Ransom Of A Nation

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 43:1-3 KJV
1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

America is a land of freedom, but that freedom is ransomed by the lives that were loss for our freedom, on both sides of freedom land. We found the English in battle for Independence. There wars that happen even within our borders since that time for precious freedom. How many lives lost. Those scholars are now doing their math. Israel was ransom for the sake of being children of God on more then one occasion. The loss of life of those that came up against them in battle because of their faith, because of their wealth. Through out scripture see the ransom of God's people, being won through victory of God's protection on the earth. Yet God's protection did not last when God's people called by his name refuse to listen and chose to disobey him.

Pharaoh at the time of Egypt and the first born of Egypt paid a ransom of life lost for the freedom of Israel. Time of King Asa Ethiopia and Seba tried to rise up against Israel and they lost the battle. King Asa prayed and deliverance came against an mighty army of men. The nation of Israel loved by God and for that reason God's people today as Christians need to still love Israel.

We all can relate in someway to either the tribe of Israel or nations that had risen against her that lost life because of their greed, or desire to have what Israel had. This relation God had with Israel was for all people, God desires his church to have with His Son. Christ paid the ransom for many scripture declares. The killing of God's Son for the sake of Israel to keep her freedom to not go up in battle or loose life style in exile to Rome. Do we fail to see the giving up of Christ for them not to loose freedom, did we lose Christ earthly kingdom? Scripture says that Christ will rule a thousand years. Yet Christ also suffered at the hands of soldiers, government and even the crowd that shouted crucify to teach us how to live and walk in faith so others could see the value of Christ in the world. His giving his life as a ransom for many meant what they could have their laws, and not him as King. Yet for God's remnant/Christ disciples, Christ rose up to give them a reason to fight for their freedom of faith, to honor the Holy One of Israel and His Son. Living in the exile to the law man, and subjection to the law, but also in subjection to God and His Son first, if we choose him. As Christ went willing to the cross for man's law by the will of God. The cost of follow God greater then following the easy road of the law of God and Christ Jesus. Yet God's law is superior to man's law, because it is the law of love, it a law that always keep being resurrection despite the cruelty of man.

Does it mean that man rules, the answer is no. However it means God is allowing a time period for man to come to his senses that his way is best for him. To allow him free choice, to know the cost of evil or the evilness of the devil and even some of his own choices in life. God's power to raise the dead, and his power to bring destruction also tells man his authority and power is destructible and is short compared to eternity with God. Christ's way is always triumphing over man and Satan. That the devil did not push God back for God's Son rose again. His word will continue to rise through out eternity. Devil will find his doom in the eternal lake of fire that burns for eternity.

Dear Heavenly Father, your Son paid a price for our freedom to live with the choice of doing things your way or man's way. Yet the choice is ours. We can rely you in faith believing in your victory over the grave and the world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Chronicles 14:9-15 KJV
9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
12 So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
15 They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.

Revelation 20:1-5 KJV
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
