Lifting Up Jesus 07/17/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 3:14-22 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
Some people only want to see what they can understand. Anything else is a mystery. God told Moses to lift a fiery serpent up in the wilderness. It was not an idol to look at and worship, it was symbol of promise, a symbol of hope, a symbol of if you obey my voice and do what I say you will be healed. People who were bitten by poison vipers sought the Lord through Moses and God told Moses to lift up the serpent, and the people believed and were healed. They believe the promise just like looking at a rainbow and knowing God promised not to cover the entire earth again. We worship not the serpent or the rainbow, but it a symbol of faith, hope and trust between two parties, God and man in this case. The promise of the redeemer is the same, his coming meaning that whosoever believes in his Son would of have eternal life. His Son Jesus representing the promise of hope and hope to come. Jesus being more then just spiritual but in the flesh not an unanimated object to look at, but a person to bow before in humility knowing God kept his word to man, to redeem him through the promise Messiah from many years gone by.
Despite the Messiah coming and knowledge of his coming people still perfered darkeness over light. People will always chase the devil so far til either evil takes them to hell, or tell they get their full of evil and turn to God. No one likes the confusion or frustration caused because of turning toward evil. Evil sometimes seems to harsh a word for people desires, like jealousy, envy, anger, bitterness, and so forth. In darkness a person in the country can not see who in their chicken coop at night, because the moon is often not bright enough. If bitterness, envy, jealousy has darken your door, then the darkness has in gulfed you into a world of perhaps misconception to not being able see who trying to steal you away from the light of God's love, and the ability to love others. The need to feel all the human emotion that comes with the territory of untruthfulness lies at one door. The ability to not to see truth lies at one's grasp. Yet the ability to see truth and light is ever present in a believers life. The need to look to Jesus is ever real. The ability to look to the hope God has promised because of his love for us. The ability to grab hold of the hope of prize when we obey God and lay all our envy, jealousy, anger, bitterness aside is part of learning to love like Jesus. To love like our heavenly Father.
difference of being condemn for unbelief is different of faith and no faith is the condemnation upon's life. faith takes away the condemnation. I the one with eye issues and the other day I said to my husband can't you see the problem with folding this tarp. His response despite the problem was on his side of the tarp was I had it wrong. The problem is not be able to see the value of just belief in God the Father and his Son. The ability to walk in the light of God's unconditional love, despite our humanity. Yet our obedience for God is out of our love for him. Obeying God to look to his Son has example how to live in our world of sin. As a believer we have advocator who name is Jesus. That when we walk in truth, that the things are manifest that they are works of God.
The work of God and the promise hope through faith in his word, that what he declares to us will be. Can imagine how stupid it sounded to look at the serpent that Moses made out of brass and lifted on a pole in the wilderness was, and yet upon doing so, anyone looking at the serpent was healed. God ways are simple never stupid. However it takes faith to obey the Lord. Naaman spoke to the prophet Elijah and he told him to dip in the Jordan river seven times. It was an act of obedience to receive healing from God. Our spiritual healing to look to Jesus is just that. To obey God by looking to Christ and believing he sent him to redeem us from our sins. That looking to Jesus we have eternal life as promise and forgiveness of sin. Do we believe obeying Jesus will change our life from evil to good?
Do you want Jesus to change your life to a promise of hope for eternity. Do you want Jesus to be light in a darken world so you can see who your enemy is. Then pray with me this prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the blessed hope of faith that is brought by faith in Jesus. For those that never receive Christ pray with me and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Heavenly Father I believe you sent your Son to redeem the world that through him we would be saved. I ask your forgiveness and for Jesus to be my Lord and Savior; Come into my heart Lord Jesus. I also receive your gift of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct my life to enable to me to produce fruits of faith. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Titus 3:2-8 KJV
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
