Hope

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 8:24-30 KJV
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Hard thing in this world is to have hope for a better tomorrow, but I say do not ever give up for a better life, because as believers we have all God intend for us to have on earth, or not we have the hope of the heaven and inheritance that is far greater then the world we live in now. Can we wait for heaven? Many people are willing to die hoping for a glimpse of heaven by their own hand, never realizing God never intended for man to die by their own hand, but by God's will alone. He gives life and breath of life, and he also removes it. We live out days to the best of our ability, whether sick in body, healthy and striving, and growing old waiting for the promise of eternity.

Sometimes hope in the world seems unavailable, but eternal hope always is, because we know not all that God has in store for us on the other side of eternity. We know in the world we live in, it far from perfection. Yet there days where perfection seems to reign for a time period, to help build hope. Yet on those days not so perfect and sadness from loss of love ones, fired from a job, working long days, or dealing with a crisis, one might not even feel like praying. As a believer there times we just do not know what to say to God any longer. That perfect praise on our lips seem far away. Yet the Spirit of God knows how to make intercession for us as believers. Speaking to God the Father about our need and how we feel deep within our soul. Those are the days we need to just rest in God's presence, why because I said so, no because there healing and hope there that will carry one through even many a dark day in life. When rest, we take off our shoes, our hats, and our coat. Maybe in put on PJ's. We relax and we share our horrible day with God. The very moment of understanding, before God we do not hae to pretend everything alright, he knows already that we are having a hard time.

As a believer we carry that hope of Christ in our heart. Even when we fail, God intercedes in our life. The only thing we have to do is be obedient to him, and follow his will for our life. His intercession in prayer will carry to our heart his response, his love, his comfort to us. Today I read a post that seemed to fit me to a Tee. However I had to look to see who it was from as well as know the person knows not my struggle an the post was to all her friends. Yet it fit me perfectly. God uses many things to get our attention in life, a friend, family, and sometimes just the world around us. He uses scripture alot of the time, but it not always scripture that heals us, or helps us at the moment of need. It can be a beautiful sunset or sunrise. A kitten playing, or something simple. A child's laugh, or even the infant crying that heals the hurt of the day. It that hope life is still moving around us, even when we can not rest. Then I reminded some sleep on busy highways, and some sleep in bed with greater fear then the street. Yet to rest in God's hope brings more peace then all the reminders around us. To know Christ died for us and rose again. To know there is newness in life, we have life after repentance, we have hope for eternity.

We know God foreordain us to be his children to walk in his will. That is before we knew even ourselves God created hope for us for eternity to walk in his ways and his will. God's will for all us that we would receive his Son has Lord and Savior by his word. That he extend hope to us for eternity, because the consequences without it, is death and destruction with torment. We can not even imagine what that is like even with the suffering of our world.

We know all things work together for good to those who love God. Meaning there times when things do not feel perfect, we may even be miserable beyond what appears to be hope. Yet God in time shows how these things not only benefit us but those around us. Jeremiah standing in the sewer, only reminds me that even standing in stinky mess, life has something worth waiting for. Jeremiah was released and did not face destruction that Israel was having, but given hope outside Israel. Sometimes we sitting in a mess, but the next day wearing a smile of hope. Look at Joseph story in Genesis, his story tells of prison he did not deserve but the landed up ruling in Egypt. God's people may see destruction, but they not left in the sewer or needing bread.

Dear Heavenly Father, you give us hope even in times of trouble, even when we can not pray. You know our pain, our problems, but you know how to provide us rest, strength for the journey, and continual hope of a better tomorrow. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 12:22-32 KJV
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
