Adoption 07/06/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 8:15-23 KJV
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
The responsibility to change as believers in Christ comes so we do not continue in our yoke of bondage. When we receive Christ as Lord, we do not gain a position of fear of God but God adopts has his children. There many children that wait for adoption. There many families that desire children equally that can not have children of their own. God wanted not little robots, he wanted children that with free will would choose to do things his way. If you remember on the Waltons, not sure when this episode would of run, but the Father had to deal with each of his boys not taking up the sawmill trade, except for one. They all knew how to work in the sawmill but only one had the same dream of his father. It may of been more then one show of Waltons this theme was displayed. However the point is our heavenly Father as a job for all his children, and not all want to run the course of their Heavenly Father design. In fact their ways were evil in scripture in opposition to their Heavenly Father. At least John Walton had sons choosing good career choices. God the Father will he was always having to run after those sheep/children that keep going astray.
As sheep/children we do go astray, but we know that the Heavenly Father chases after each of us, yet at the same time we as children of God have a responsibility not to be yoke by sin of the world. To be in bondage to sin, because when we turn away from sin to follow Jesus, there is no turning back. If we do sin, we have advocator his name is Jesus.(I John 2:1-2). What does God word do when we sin, it corrects us and we are suppose to turn away. What happens when someone backslides they seldom turn away but continue in the path of unrighteousness. That pathway being not the pathway of God. Until the backslider repents he is classified as being turned away from God, not lost from God but head in a direction not of God. God sometimes waits for his children to come to his own conclusion that his pathway in life is not of God and his way is best. God never left the backslider. He is not please. God wrath will come with correction even on the believers life. With repentance there is forgiveness. God corrects his own.
As a believer to have perfect liberty that spoken of we must follow in the footsteps of Jesus following in the ways of God. Christ's cross was about obedience to God and suffering for obedience to God at the hands of those in opposition to God. That blessed hope is for the testimony or record of our life that will be given before the throne. See our sins are covered and cast into the sea of forgetfulness. We receive a crown that fadeth not away crowned with God's glory. The crown that represents whose child we are and that we are faithful to carry our cross.
The glory of the hope of faith in Christ, by doing his will, walking and following in his pathway leads to eternal life. The walking by faith not by sight leads us down the path of righteousness. Yet we are saved by Christ Jesus. We saved through faith in Christ Jesus. The key to the door of heaven, but not until it our time to be there. When we get there we see God's glory and be crown with his glory as his sons and daughters if we have receive Christ as Lord.
The fullness of Christ seen in the word and in the flesh and incorruptible flesh and word. Meaning what man corrupts God's word, but God ability to restore the flesh and word and make it into everlasting and incorruptible. To see Jesus more then just a man is important. That Jesus is more then just a mere man, but is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He is the everlasting Priest in the Priesthood and the first born of God.
Until the glorious hope occurs we as children groan waiting for the final adoption process, because we deal with temptation of our flesh. We deal with that struggle of what happening to our earthly bodies. Dealing with persecution at times, and so forth.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your saving grace through Christ Jesus, Lord remind us of the perfectly liberty you give us through you Son, to live life more abundantly, following in the footsteps of your Son. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
