The Power Walk: Lesson 13 1/23/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMatthew 11:25-30 KJV
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
If your power walking do you need a time of rest? David was a king and in power but when he rest and found his enemies were all at peace with him, he looked around and thought I need to build a house for God to dwell in. Place for God to abide. Now if you like me how many boxes does man try to put God in. God gave us a house of flesh and one day will give us a house of uncorruptibility when we get to heaven. I got to thinking about how God gave Jesus a body of corruptibility in his perfection. His body made like our human house. Our soul being the part that will face either eternal torment or eternal life with God, and Christ Jesus. With faith we gain incorruptible body like Christ. This thought consumed me, as I began to think how many house does man build to try and house God in, when he able to make a home anywhere he pleases, yet he chooses to give us a choice to make our hearts his home. We choose to build a place of corporate worship of God that houses God within the walls of it. Only if God is welcome in the house that is made by human hands does he dwell within it.
What then, what is a house, and what are we building, one of imperfection, that is not built necessarily by the power of God though it maybe dedicated to him. Our creation by our power to box God of all power in. No it is impossible to box God in. He comes and goes has he pleases. The sacreness of the Ark of the Covenant its designer was God and his desire to live in and dwell among the people within it. God choosing an ark to live in. The sacredness of the ark of the covenant a reminder of God's holiness and our inability to reach God by our own merit because of his holiness. A reminder God will commision his houses to be built by those he choose to build it. God took David desire to build him a house, took it and told him his son would build it. Yet David was man who heart was toward God, but the ark chosen by God to be carried and moving around among the people as a structure to reverence, power and demonstration of authority God. Anyone touching the ark would die. Yet God would remind the people he was still with them.
The desire David had was a heavy burden to bear, but the call was not of his designing. Christ said those who are heavy laden to come to him because his burden and yoke was light and he would give a person rest. We capitalist that want to make big money move and travel and increase, their knowledge beyond my financial expertise, but not beneath my understanding. The farmer has a vast land only to need to farm it. Yet he looks over the horizon at his fields to know there is a time of planting, time of sowing and time of harvest, A time of work and time of rest. Every person must look at his labor and know it will last for a time period, but the labor of faith will last into eternity.
David was resting from his labor of war and peace, David and the nation of Israel need to rest from the blessings of peace. God was merciful to David because his work had been done the security of nation completely for the most part, his enemies even were at peace with Israel. It seems like hard work, but David was not only a shepherd but a protector of the people. Yet he even made mistakes. Yet his call by God has king was to do exactly what he did secure the land of Israel and bring his nation to peace. It was time for him to rest and enjoy the fruit of his labor. Time to continue his worship of God in faith, and to continue to rule in peace and safety.
We want either the yoke of sin, the responsibility of one labor, or the yoke of creating our world to be a better place. We see churches on every corner, needing to be filled, the labor of those that built those churches complete. Yet each generation must labor for fruit of faith, no all one has to do is believe and as a believer because of your love for him, we continue in the will of God in our life. Our labor is over the minute we receive Christ as Savior and Lord. Yet our labor of love has only begun. The gifts of our labor are for God's glory, not to be mistaken for labor of our hands for profit and livilihood. Why is there a need for distinction if God knows the sparrow has need. I was watching a bluebird in a birdhouse build his nest, yet God takes care of them as well as the sparrow. He provides the tools in which to use for our comfort. He provides the means to build ourselves a home. Yet we looking at building God a house, how can we if our heart is his home. He must sweep our heart clean by the use of his word and our desire to be more like him. Our heart must have a desire to change, for God to sweep his house clean. We are the temple not made with human hands, we are temple God creates and design to create a incorruptible body for. David had a house for God that even got purged over his sin with Bathesheba. What am talking about. Dsvid was in the fields playing his harp, playing his harp in the palace for King Saul, David in the tabernacle singing praises to God. David going where ever to sing unto the Lord. His heart was already house of God and David could not build that house but God could. His labor of faith despite his sin was clearly known among the people. The yoke of God is not our inability to make money, to rule as a king, to live in luxury our burden is faith in God and Christ Jesus, and upon receiving his yoke it is no longer a burden but a way of life, a way to worship, a way to walk, a way to shine for God as we labor in the world around us. If you going to power walk you need faith, not building God stuff, the stuff needed in our world is going to decrease and we going to need less of it as we age. Yet the thing that will increase is our faith in God. We only need to power walk to learn God is going to do two things in our life, bring us to our knees and empower us to live for him, who died for us.
Jesus says his yoke is light because it only about faith, and living for him doing the will of God the Father, as he calls you out to testify of his name in all part of our daily life. Living free from sin and living a life please to God. A walk not of shame but of faith.
Dear Heavenly Father, you know our physicals needs, and you provide for it, but you also enable your people to work in a world designed to be a hard task master at times. Yet your burden and yoke is light, because it reaches the very center of our soul. In Jesus preciosu name, Amen.

1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.
4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
