The Power Walk: Lesson 3 1/13/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisEcclesiastes 3:9-22 KJV
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
Do you want to power walk? Let me explain a little something you make a mistake guess what that mistake maybe seen for a long time by others, but one day that mistake will be destroyed. I love to crochet and do counted cross stitch. I made an error many years ago on a picture I started, and was over halfway through and did not want to rip it out because it was to many stitch to have to redo. The picture still sits undone. There is a point I only know the error and the one that design the picture and God. Yet despite it, I could not finish it. It has to big of a mark on that picture of to big of a mistake to undo. Then I read in I Corinthians where all my work going to one day be destroyed. Think that mistake is now gone. I said to myself the other day, the picture got to be finished before I can not see to finish it. Life is short. We are going to make, build, and secure our nest as best as we can. Those who have lost their homes by fire, or nature's fury know that cost and what remain was literally a miracle from God.
God created man in his image, gave man a job to subdue the earth. Gave man the job of have dominion over the animals of the sea, air and land. To multiply and and to be fruitful, to replenish(meaning to fill in hebrew language) the earth. Do we pass away or do we live for eternity. Families of the earth replenish the earth by bearing children, but without these children believing in God, the generation passes away with no hope of everlasting life. A part of us live when we have offspring, yet it does not mean that the offspring will have eternal life. Each offspring must make a decision for Christ on their own. Each child of God must trust in Jesus or that branch is broken off. There some family members that get cut off from family tree because of sin against the family. Yet it does not mean those family members can not be grafted in again. However in God's family, once grafted, once we take root spiritually in him, we are his children. You can not cut someone out of the family even if you force them away from you. Does it mean they still grafted some how, no you grafted into God, it the part that remains that will not perish, that everlasting life. It the part that makes you joint heirs with Jesus. It is the part that can no be taken from you, because God gave you not only a spiritual birth, but a spiritual baptism.
There things we do even after being saved, that we will rejoice at the day that memory of it is demolished not just the work of it. The seed time and harvest is the planting of God's word, no man can do, but the hand of God can, yet we are toss it out there for it to take root hopefully in good soil. Those that receive it and one day become spiritually born again is part of the family God too. Those that receive and are born again have eternal life. All those bad things in our life are gone forever, first through salvation, and then physically our errors are demolished with the judgment of God.
Are you born again by the incorruptible seed of God. The word being the incorruptible seed and the word is God and is Jesus. Can we accept that our works done in the flesh will be demolished, and that are works of spiritual fruit will last through eternity. You want to power walk, recognize who you walking for, yourself or God? If it be for God then the power is not yours to use however you want, but to use for God's glory and honor. It is "Dear Heavenly Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive our debt has we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine Is The Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever, Amen." This quote is the Lord's prayer.
Now back to Ecclesiastes. King Solomon is talking about the labor of his work, the labor of man's work. We labor for what, the joy and benefits it brings to each and everyone of us that labor in the workforce for money. The benefits of the work of man to enjoy life is not prohibited in scripture or by God. It was however by Jesus told to give it all to the poor and to follow him. Is these two thoughts in option. Who is speaking and who is not speaking in this chapter. In Ecclesiastes, man is speaking about the ways of man, and way of man survival by his hand. Yet when Jesus tells the rich man to sell all he had and give it to the poor he speaking from God's perspective. What he says is true to give to the poor because the poor have needs is true. Yet Jesus says does not God care for the Sparrow, how much more does he care for you. There many struggling since the pandemic. There many learning how to lean and trust in God because of the pandemic. Yet others gave up hope with out hope. Those that are left behind have to deal with being left behind. Yet we are not without hope if we believe in Christ. Our hope is eternal, but we can also acknowledge that man needs money the fruit of his labor outside the realm of faith. Yet if we give it all to Jesus, do we have to worry. What does that mean really. What does it mean we labor for the fruit of the earth. God planted trees so we would not starve, gave us animal and vegetables and yet we labor for what, food in the begining of creation. We labor in for our physical needs and wants. Sounds like the devil being tormentive, no. In reality wealth can be over powering and a huge responsibility that some of us only want to lighten our load in life, but not over powering that it controls every aspect of our life. Faith can be so over powering that we working hard, looking fruitless, but in reality we are productive in whose eyes, God's eyes.
Where is the line and what is the limit on the line to balance working for God's glory and honor and our stability in life. It depends on the ability to work, produce labor of money through skills that have developed in life, And the labor of God's kingdom that is what is freely given to others. You want to power walk you learn to demonstrate both well, can't do but one, choose wisely which one you choose, one is about fruit in the eternity, and one about fruit and labor now. No matter how much money you make in your life time, there always be a desire for something you can not afford. That why there hot rods cars out there that one might enjoy looking at but it unaffordable to most, or a luxury a person understands is not necessary and rather put it towards fruit of endless life. You want to power walk be fruitful for God, and you see his fruit in your labor of love to the saints.
Dear Heavenly Father, move in your people to walk by your power sowing the seed of endless life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Genesis 1:26-31 KJV
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
1 Corinthians 3:1-15 KJV
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Matthew 6:9-13 KJV
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
