The Power Walk: Lesson 1 1/11/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPhilippians 4:13 KJV
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
What is a power walk but the a walk of faith, that short verse that encourages one through out the day, especially at those times, things seem difficult. I am not a memorizer by study, I am a memorizer by God's Spirit. Recall for me is usually a search engine these days, with a key word or phrase. Yet there still verses that I have at least particially memorized long ago. I had a elderly lady once ask me, what happens to my faith as my mind fades. I told her don't worry about your memory, you still know who God is in your heart, and He still knows you. Easy words for a person with memories of old, but not for one facing altermizers or memory loss, and God's word is the most special thing they hold to and have for almost all of their life.
The point is no matter how much we try to retain of God's word or hold in our hearts, we need to try and retain the basics of our faith. The memory of how God miraclously moved in our hearts might fade, or the memory of the quick boost of faith in the middle of the storm, or that power verse that you try and apply weekly and daily to your life, might not be able to be retained, but God still knows who you are, and in the darkest shadows of the day when all seems lost, God is able to bring the recall for those verses needed, for the memory of hope, love, and not least faith. As I get older I realize one of my power verse really needs to be "I can do all things through Christ which Strengthen me". why this one verse, Paul talks about how "he know both how to be abased and how to be abound: ever where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." When you get my age, you understand Paul's words. However there people on streets, people just starting out that know hardship of life as well.
I got to think how I personally took flight from the comfort of my parents home and realized in truth we all must leap off the porch at some point in life if we are ever going to soar. Some fly early, some a little later, and some far later then ever expected. No matter when you left the nest of the comforts of your family, or friend, you learn two things you either fall on your face, crawl or stand. It matters not. One hopes the jump is smooth sailing but it far from the truth. Yet we claim Christ with us through our journey in life and we still had battles of up and down. It not always a peaceful road. We might want to claim it, but as Christian I rather be honest and tell you life without Christ would be ten times harder.
"I can do" what in Philliappians 4:13? "All things through Christ who strengthens me". No matter what life throws you, if I follow the will of God for my life, I can live through God's word, I can live with Christ Spirit within my heart, because he provides what? Strength is the answer. If God is going to strengthen for the journey ahead, what else does one need? God's strength is going to be provided if you do what follow in his footsteps/word. We can not look for God's strength in the hardship of life, if we not going to be following his pathway. If Christ is not before us, how can we recognize his strength to mount up like eagles and fly, only when we are weak in our knees.
God is faithful when we walk humbly before him. When we do not try to be God. When we recognize our own inability, God sees our weakness and makes us strong enough for the journey ahead that we must rely on him. Doesn't mean we not far ahead in life financially or are not poor as a church mouse, it matters not, it is about spiritual strength. See we are tested in our faith to give up, to loose and even to fail. Yet God give us the power to rise above what thought possible to hold on through the storm, to stand in the heat of battle, and to continue forward in faith, if we trust in him, follow his will and not loose sight.
We all loose sight at times and it possible to lay God's word down or put it on a shelf. God did not design you to put his word down but to live by it. God did not design you to put his word on a shelf and then try and take it on your journey after dusting it off, but go ahead and dust it off, because holding on to Christ will give you strength for the journey To find ourself in need of him for strength to carry on, is what all of us might realize, it not in our strength. Our strength must coming from him to is do his work, and his will. Christ in his physically fleshly body went to the cross, carrying his cross for you and me. Christ body consumed by beating, by nailed that hung him on the cross, but his resurrection came by the will of the Father. When you flat on your face, in the need of God, submit to him, repent, and rise up by his power and strength. Rememeber Christ feed the five thousand, he grew tired, through out his ministry he look for seclusion to pray. We too must to do the same in our journey of faith. Pray to our Heavenly Father, knowing God will hear us and provide the strength we need. Strength daily that will keep us seeking him.
Dear Heavenly Father, give us strength in the days ahead. give us the power to rise up when we fall to our knees in submission to you. Help us to rise up and to live our life to your will and glory, no matter what we are going through in this world. To testify of you. Knowing our testimony is for those that need Jesus, that need a little strengthen of God's ability to provide. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
