Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Hebrews 9:1-28 KJV
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The presence of God among the people is not the same as God purging the temple at the time of Hanukakkah. Is God with man at the temple in Jerusalem before Christ. His word was but not in the flesh, and the claim of time of Rome not his Spirit either. People longed for the days of the first temple built by King Solomon or even the tabernacle experience on the road to the Promise Land. They were looking for the events of long ago and not for their own experience of God speaking to their hearts and minds. Believers speaks of this time period almost as if a total absence of God. This is not so. As long as God's laws are presence, God's word is present and God's people are presence, as long as seedtime and harvest is present God is present. There is an absence of the Spirit filling the temple. An absence of maybe miracles, absence of corporate experience in worship as in days of old. Remember John the Baptist message was Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Yet he spoke of one coming that would baptize with fire. Yet Christ ministry beside bring controversy that arose was peaceful, did not seem like a fiery path, but it was a pathway of bring the sick and seeing them heal in crowds, manifestation of God's Spirit in Christ who was Christ, expanding into the crowd, as the crowd spread the news like a wildfire. The revival Spirit of our world today, may sound like a pentecostal/charimatic experience only to find among the people those seeking experience more then the one who is going to change lives, that they manifest the experience, not because of their ability to do so, but the power of belief within themselves that can be psychological dangerous. It is the crushing of car on top of someone, and someone seeing it, seems to have super natural powers, lifts the car by themselves. When these type of stories first began to circulate of this type of event, cars were not equivalent to soda can, they were hard heavy metal. People would be amazed at such a feat, but some believed it had to do with andrelin strength seem to over right natural ability. To natural lift, it was impossible, but the adenralin of the situation it became possible. An experience of power not necessarily of God. Yet those who seen would say God is involved in this. My question would be was there even a silent prayer. Yet we know psychological different feats are accomplished because the human mind and body does not say you can not do it, a force of power that is within all of us to do impossible feats, yet no way to tap into that power without the emergency, urgency experience of the andrelin rush.

God's power demonstrated in the lives of the people might now materialize in the mindset of the people or what is described by the people. If it was so the flood in people's minds would not have happened, and the parting of the red sea would of still happened with the water flooding back over the enemy. We looking for this purified supernatural experience at the temple and maybe even in our churches today. Yet what we get is the mimicking of God and not the reality of God. Yet for everyone the experience the genuine Spirit filled life, they learn to know the difference, in something being of God or the wolves in sheep attire. The only way to weigh the experience is how did it glorify God, and edify the church. In this case of the temple what man sought would it have edified the church to see the Holy Spirit pouring through the temple? The anointing of God upon the temple manifesting as in the days of the first temple and tabernacle of God at the time of Christ?

If we can understand that we not looking for destruction in a flood but destruction by fire to destroy the sin on the earth and to purge the entire earth with Christ coming, then the flood experience is just as deadly, but with salvation in the mist of the storm in the ark, and yet outside the ark, is like total destruction. Do we want this experience even with God telling us it is coming, his word will be done? The idea of evil being destroy is simple, but the idea of destruction coming is not. The blood of the Lamb was the protection yearly for the people, the lamb blood sprinkled on everything in the temple and on the people. All in representation of the first blood on the doorpost of the Hebrew children in Egypt. Within the ark their first born safe and outside the door the first born would surely die. Yet not one report of one Hebrew first born loss.

The first testament, the laws of blood of the Lamb, anointing with sprinkles of blood for purification had to be done yearly, yet Christ blood purged the sins of God's people for eternity. Christ without sin? Christ followed the will of God and not the will and laws of man. If he followed the laws of man we still be waiting for a Messiah, because without doing the will of God and following the will of God, he sinned against God, whether or not he sin against man. Jesus obeyed his Father and his Father's will. Part of seeing a temple purged and God's presence within it, is to clean it, to purge the filth of sin from it. Time of Christ it is obvious there needed a purging, for Christ would turn the money changers tables over two times in his ministry. One in the begining and one at the end. Why were the priesthood analzing everything Christ did, because he found fought with them, with them allowing the money changers in. They were not there to glorify God only themselves. God called Zacharias and Elizabeth righteous people. Righteous people meaning people of faith not just in appearance but at the heart, the place where no man can see another spirituality. If we could each other hearts, we be trying to purge that person heart probably, because our own heart needs purging by Jesus, and not the human hand.

Perhaps the Hanukakkah experience during the Macbean era, only caused the idea that the sanctuary filling and going outside the door was physical possible and seeable. If God would just return to be with his people as in days of old in the temple, not in the form of human flesh walking among them. In my mindset, I think the experience of the Messiah walking and talking on the earth should of been a hallelujah chorus in the sanctuary of the temple going outside the temple, it was but not to the Priesthood delight. People praised God over the miracles done in the temple sanctuary, but not to the Priesthood delight. The stories would fuel the fire, but no one knew who this person was that did these miracles. One even said what could come from Nazareth.

Christ blood is poured out on the earth because of his obedience to his Heavenly Father in the temple. The sprinkling of his blood that purges the saints from sin. We must separate the sin against man and the sin against God having the ability to be different, when God's will is applied. Not everything man does is God's will, but the purging of his House definitely was his will. God can not remain in unholiness without an ark, a tabernacle, a veil in the temple and so forth. When the veil was torn the only covering that was, was the blood of Christ. Jesus said on the cross, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do".

The veil of Christ body, the veil of the ark, the veil within the temple in the holies of holies. The hope of being purified enough to enter the holies of holies by the priesthood, became real as Christ enter heaven and stood with and before God. You want a religious experience ask Christ to purge your heart, where he wants to live and invite him in to live and to purge every corner of it. To set and teach your very soul who he is and how he loves each of us. When we begin to allow Christ to purge our hearts we will see that revival spirit we all long for, for when we reach heaven we know Christ blood is covering us before the Father, while on this earth we only need to follow Christ Spirit and his word. Following in our Heavenly Father's will for our life. That is the true Holy Spirit life and not the antics of psychological mumbo jumbo, that might encourage faith, but it in itself not faith at all. Did it edify God or cause confusion?

Dear Heavenly Father, purge our hearts, cleanse us with Christ's blood and fill us with your Spirit, teach us your word and to follow your Spirit this New Year. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 26:26-29 KJV
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
