Loving God: Lesson 22
2/25/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 9:28-36 KJV
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

Why is the second anointing so imporant here? I calling it a second anointing because it would of given disciples hope at the cross perhaps, and yet no hope was found among them of resurrection at the moment of Christ's cross. Talking about the storm in life we go through and the time of prayer before the storm and maybe after storm or during the storm. Let talk about who appeared Moses(who represence the judgment, lawgiver, and faithbuilder) and the Prophet Elijah(that represent the time of faith building with miracles and wonders and with crushing of the enemy). Jesus was both the lawgiver, intercessor and the faith builder, miracle work and the crusher of the enemy. These two leaders represent a time of faith in Israel with wonders from heaven and leaders who God built up for the purpose of turning Israel back to him. Here is Christ who is to turn the hearts of Israel and world back to him, but he is more then a prophet. Evidence comes with the changing of Christ clothing to white and glistering, and yet his own skin, his countenance, was altered into his heavenly body as God the Son, his status declared in this one picture of what was to come. God spoke as he did in the baptism of Christ when the dove came down upon him and declare this was his son whom he was well pleased, but here he says "this is my beloved Son: here him".

Something to note the disciples felt it necessary to build a tabernacle/tent for all three of them, and God said no and covered them himself with a cloud. Only thing that covers Christ, Moses and Elijah was God himself. Yet this cloud caused a separation between the disciples present and the three (Moses, Elijah, and Jesus). Jesus was more then Elijah and Moses and when his appearance change they disciples understood one greater then Elijah was here, and one greater then Moses was here with them. This is imporant because God consecrates us through the veil of the blood/flesh of Christ through his burial and through the resurrection he gave us the power to speak to him without him being with us. No more need for the intercessor, yet the intercessor is given by the Holy Spirit, his word. and the flesh of Christ. Christ is a door that translates us to the Father and the only thing he sees is we are his child through spiritual birth through Christ cross. As a new born baby born into the world covered in blood and fluid, washed off, wiped off, handed to the mother, we are spiritual covered by the blood of the son, present to God in a new body that not the one we carry at the present with us. We have heavenly body for our soul as Christ does. The body image of Moses and Elijah is not mention in this chapter. Yet the covering of being able to see them because of the disciples own need to build a tabernacle for each one speaks volumes. Desire for the covering to hide their sin. They had fallen asleep as the three talk, and when they woke they seen who they truly were and the need to hide because of sin. Yet God covers them. What does that say while on earth we are covered only by the blood of Jesus. Yet with the rebirth into heavenly home we are changed into heavenly beings through the cross of Christ. This cross is on going purging of sin, because though we be sanctified through Christ upon belief, we still have to carry our cross into endless life. Christ being the great High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Jesus being the true High Priest and King of Israel, because he was willing gave his life for his people. We can not forget that the High Priest Caiaphas in John said one would have to die for the nation.

Where does this leave us on this side of eternity in which I write. Standing before God with a blood covering, that when I go through the veil/clouds I be home with him into eternity. If he comes before I leave earth, the veil is removed for us to join those in the New Jerusalem so he can destory the earth and heavens as we know understand them today. God will build us a new heaven and a new earth to live with Christ upon for eternity.

What is love but to present his own Son to be our atonement for our sins on earth, because of our shame of our sins that go against him. Yet through Christ, Christ is still able to say forgive. That is love, so when you pick your cross of faith and live holy unto God in truth and in love as he did, not as God but has his disciple and his child, not equal to Christ but servant of God none the less, with order being Christ first and us next in order of those before us and those after us that follow after Christ.

Our love for God and Christ must come from faith in him, because of his work of suffering did for us including the cross by covering our sin. The perfect Christ, perfect unto faith in God, perfect unto the law of God but not the law of man. We can not forget man's laws break God's laws more then once in our world from generation to generation, yet Christ supercedes it as a testimony for all that will believe and do believe, because God provided the perfect Lamb sacrifice for sin. It not the tabernacle we need to cover who he is, it is our sin we need the veil for. It our need for that intercessor that is pure love from the Father God. It is through Christ suffering we no longer need the veil but to cover Him in his glory, so we know that hope is beyond the clouds. Holiness and perfect love is beyond the universe as we know it today. Yet by the Holy Spirit we are purged from our sin continually through out our lifetime, to be presented to God has holy and purified. Cleansed by the continual work of the cross in our life, of God's forgiveness for our sin, for there is no more sacrifice for sin after the cross of Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father we praise your name for your mercy through the cross of your Son and the word you spoken to all that will believe. That our hope goes into eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 10:16-20 KJV
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Revelation 21:1-4 KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Hebrews 7:15-28 KJV
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
