Luke 7:1-10 KJV
1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Capernaum is on the western shore of Galilee in the land of Galilee, a Jewish and Gentile region known as Palestine. Where both the Jews and Gentiles lived. In this region a Centurion, an officer of the Roman Army, who had built the Jewish people a Synagogue. Now what important to note is the synagogue is not the Temple in Jerusalem which was only built by Jews religious leaders, however Centurion must of been Jewish at least by faith, maybe not by blood, because for him to build a place of worship the Jewish leaders would of had to okay a person outside the nation of Israel by nationality. Two cultures and both culture different, but it was important to have a place to worship Israel God. He not only worship God but we do know for certain he loved the Israelite nation. He love the nation enough when he called the Jewish elder to go fetch Jesus to heal his servant the man went to Jesus and asked him to come heal this Officer's servant. When almost there the officer sent another servant to tell Jesus just to say the word and he knew that his servant would be healed, because he to was man of authority that could tell this one to go and he would go. He knew Jesus was busy. Those sent to tell Jesus went back and found the servant whole.

Several things here, when a boss has enough command of his workers that they do the work and are not idle it is a miracle. Workers who work beside some that do nothing but ride on the coat sleeve that actually workers are often despised by the workers. However in the military you do as your told and you learn quick not to ask questions I have heard. Early years of marriage began with similiar idea as I did chores that need doing in the house. I will confess over the years it easy to become lazy. Yet in reality, work does have to be done. What it means is it not always laziness, health can effect people but even with health problems some things get done anyway. If it not done daily living can becomes unbearable. There is a key to working and even doing chores it makes life more bearable. Yet none of these things really matter in the story, yet to point out, this man recognized Jesus as a man of authority.

Jesus only had to send his word, is that more powerful then the officer authority? These two are not alike in power, but most would not be concerned about this issue, only if the man was healed or not and he was healed. Jewish people that love this officer who loved them understood Jesus had both power and authority to heal. Yet if we look close and understand the Centurion understood Jesus had the authority of just saying the word for someone to be healed. When Jesus gave the word for healing and the servant is healed, we understand a greater authority is here then the Centurion or the synagogue leaders. This is a game changer in understanding the authority of the centurion the Roman Office did not have that type of authority, but he knew how to order this one here and there and make request of others.

What then with the word spoken did Centurion know in his heart who Jesus was, or had at least a clue? The Centurion thought himself unworthy to be in the very presence of Jesus, despite the crowd, yet he had faith if Jesus spoke it, it would happen. This was testimony of faith testified by Jesus about the Centurion. The humbless of the man to respect his authority to heal and to allow him to go on about his business healing and ministering to more people down the road.

What is the love of a community but to love one enough to seek out the authority of one that can heal. What is love on facebook for another when we stop and say prayer for one making a request. What is love but to give to those making the request. What is love waiting for those to come together to make a request known. Why is that necessary. God can heal without us making a request, it is taking on the responsibility to talk to Jesus about the one needing healing. It is a testimony of the human compassion we have for others in need. The human need to do something when we can not do a thing, but pray, knowing God hears and will heal in Jesus name. To know the authority we have to ask in Jesus name comes we are a child of the King. Yet do we ask, do we pray, do we place a check mark. Do we put a cloth out to see if God answers prayers? I hope we past the stage of seeking proof that God will do what he speaks to our hearts about. I hope that testimony of prayers, and praying for those in need will not only be seen but known to be healed by the knowledge of answer prayer. Our God is still alive and in the healing business, more then one person can claim healing and the world now knows it because of social media. God is a good God. If you love people as you say you do start praying in Jesus name as a believer in Christ. Do not be afraid. Let God's light shine forth with answer of prayers. How many Christians are there that know how to pray, many already in full action of the biggest prayer meeting out there called social media, if your own line. You don't have to be in any group to join, you just have to pray, give some one a check mark that says I care and I am praying. That all anyone needs to know, God is hearing and delivering. Can you say thank you Lord for your your healing and allow others to see that too. Or God has answered prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, help the world know Jesus is real, that Jesus saves, that you still heal those we pray for and those who are not healed, we know your timing might not be yet, but it will come In Jesus precious name, Amen.
