Loving God: Lesson 16
2/19/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 17:11-19 KJV
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

How many of return to praise the Lord when we are healed, to come into his spiritual presence in worship him for healing or any answer prayer. It easy to keep going in the direction one is going and not to turn back to say thank you once given a gift of any kind. Thank you is a word use whether meant or not. What about the gift that is precious to the heart and soul of man. The man from Samaria turn to worship Jesus. He turn to say thank you Lord for healing him, and he return to bow physically and humbly before Jesus. The man was a Samaritan already and outcast by the Jewish nation, though they did worship God in Samaria, but some still worshipped idols.

Part of loving God is not to worry about your background, or how clean you are or not, but to come as you are in humbleness knowing God is the forgiver of sin, the healer of the soul, and body. Part of bowing to Jesus is to humbly accept his word on faith of healing, but to acknowledge it by thanking him. Thanking him for the an door, even if you got work to do. Praise can come from the heart, mind, and mouth. What I mean is it is not always do people have to give a verbal praise, but can you take the time, in some cases yes and some cases, it better to move quickly and then say thank you Lord. I do know where nine were going but the Samaritan took the time to turn and worship Jesus right there. His faith had healed him. He believed God's word, he did not need to show himself to any priest but Jesus. No one else seen Jesus as their High Priest. Only Jesus as a man/prophet that could heal them, and so the other nine went to Jerusalem to show themselves to the Priest there.

We talk about Jesus being the High Priest in the order of Melchizedec according to Hebrews and a few other references, but do we understand this Samaritan knew who his High Priest was as he turned and glorified God and worshipped at the feet of Jesus. I still thank God for the man that was obedient to pray for my healing. I thank God for allowing me to know my healing was real and from him on the day it happened though I left the church building without acknowledgement. Sometimes our obedience is only with the physical mindset and not the spiritual mindset. Those who should of known who Jesus was, was spiritually blind to Jesus, because the word said they would be during Christ ministry through the cross, and their blinders would be removed. The blinders that are on are still being removed today, because belief that Jesus came as a man and was fully God can not be seen clearly without evidence and understanding of scripture. This is a process for each of us. Something we believe blindly but other things must be sought out. Jesus was seen in the temple by the Galileans and instinct would of been lets go to the temple and show ourselves to the Priest as Jesus had told us to do. Galileans were out of the tribe where Jesus had grown up. The blinders of seeing Jesus as High Priest had to be removed after his death and resurrection, but their were those like Peter, James and John that recognized Jesus as Lord and more so upon his death and resurrection.

The process of understanding comes with age and time, and willing to be open to what God wants to teach you. One can say here am I Lord open my heart to who you are fully, and help me to grow in the knowledge of who you are in faith. Part of loving God is to worship God. The morning I was healed from pain, I went back to the church for evening worship. I testified of my healing immediately. What most did not know is I was in enough pain that morning that sitting on those benches seem twice uncomfortable then what I remember. I even had set my purse on the floor and propped my feet up with it, to try and get comfortable, because I could barely sit there for the pain. No one asked how I knew I was healed, I mean anyone that has pain, knows that some places are too uncomfortable to sit. Yet my healing came when a minister walked back and prayed for me, it was then I received what I long for, but I had not grasp God healed me until after I left the church. I never would of walked up perhaps for healing of the physical kind, but yes for spiritual healing I would have. We have to ask do we truly seek God for the physical healing, do we trust him to heal us enough that when we pray and when one is healed do you return to worship or thank God where you are. One can even worship before actually receiving one's healing, even if we have to wait awhile, because that promise of healing is ours. I did not need the preacher to tell me I was healed. In fact he told me I might experience pain again, he had his doubts of my healing I think. That is what I talking about, when God does something for you, unless you got God given blinders on, you know what God has done for you. Even the Pharoah of Egypt knew God was sending plagues, yet his heart was continually harden to the God who could deliver him in the land of Egypt. Even to the day he tried to cross the red sea and instead he drowned with his soldiers.

Can we has believers reach up and out to God not just for the spiritual faith in Christ to receive that gift of salvation but allow him to be our healer as well. It is a struggle and to say we have evidence of what God has done might take awhile, but science proves the disease, but they lack knowledge how to receive the evidence of healing without acknowledging God and faith of a believer. Blinders of faith means we worship in the temple, the blinders remove says we worship Jesus right where we are. To remove our sandals as Moses did at seeing the burning bush because he was on holy ground. Are you removing those sandals, are you allowing Christ to bath your feet to remove the sin from your garment of faith. Many are healed spiritually by receiving Christ, but struggle with God over physical healing is for today and the future. That is okay, God does not work on our time table for deliverance he works from his timetime and clock. We do not have to be healed to know God can heal us, we only need faith that he will heal us. If we can lay our salvation in his hands, can we lay our physical bodies and health in his hands? When we begin to believe, we know it is in God's hands for his purpose to glorify him and to be a witness to others that need faith in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father part of loving you, is acknowledging your power to heal and our healing is either coming, has come, or its on our way. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Psalm 103:1-12 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. 6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

James 5:13-16 KJV
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
