Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 100:1-5 KJV
1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

The author of psalm is not declare here, yet it clear to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. And it not talking about one group of people but all the lands(nations). To be God presence with singing or gladness of our hearts, soul and mind. We must understand the world is his enemy. Yet the footstool is where we are in God's throne room. Heaven being his throne. How big is God, how easy it would be trample the people of the earth. His people are the sheep of his pasture. They go through life praising him. Enter into his courts, spiritually, and/or physically it does not matter, praise should be on his people lips.

There are times when praising seems impossible. The journey of faith takes one down only one clear path, the path of following after the Spirit of God, yet we must learn to walk, and not crawl. There been time in over 16 years of writting that I gone through a few valleys and climbed a few mountain ranges when writing. There a point to this, I writen while grieving, I wrote in times of joy and peace, time of frustration, times of even anger and even times of spiritual war within. What have I gained, a perspective of God's throne room is huge, and the house that man ask God to dwell in is very small in comparison.

David could not build a house to God because he was a man of war and had blood on his hands. God's church can not be built on war, but on God's love for man alone. Spiritual warfar is not the battle of David, it the human kind of war that prevents David from building the temple. He covered in the blood of men he killed. Yet God still wrote his laws and instruction on David's heart. God would not allow David to build a house of worship, but would allow his son Solomon too. Now this is hard to fully grasp, but the house of God is a place man invited God to be among his people. David danced in God's throne room even undignified before the ark. David place of worship was not just in tabernacle but out in the open field as a shepherd boy into manhood learning about his God. His worship place still in God's throne room, where God's enemies were at his feet of God and even David's footstool. Yet in the mist of God's enemies David desire to build a house for God, not one he could protect, or even keep whole. God would have to make his people whole upon his command, in order to worship. Make his people well, or enabling them for the task required for them in building of the sanctuary.

Solomon unlike his father in faith, commit adultry with idols, build a house an altar for Astrothe as well has for others religions. He honor God's house, but at the same time dishonor God in his relationship to him. Solomon seen not God in the open field. He seen his power as a way to divide and conquer different faiths by building different house, no. He built different house to appease the people that they could worship other religions and still live in harmony with each other. Where Solomon understood it or just did it, because of many wives, he had to make happy, I suspect we will not really know the answer. Our freedom of religion in America appease many nationalities that live in our nation. Yet it does not focus on the worship of God of the Bible only. Looking at the Bible has it is writen tell the stories of other faith. Tells the history of many religions That man worshipped things they evented as well as the true God. God found in scripture and the worship of God is found in scripture. Though we often live in the time of Solomon in the cultures that divide us through religion and legalism of a group of people, we may find ourselves looking at the throne room of God and may find ourselves worshipping in his throne room, knowing even in his houses around the globe, God is not always welcome to dwell, though they may of be built for him. It is truly at God's command that his people worship him in spirit and in truth. Whether in one God's houses is built by human hand, the house in which God created to worship him was our human hearts. God's people obey him to worship, God's people call by his name, who humble themselves in praise, turning from their sin, turning from their impurity of faith, and trust him. God designed worship to honor him, and to glorify his name. The heathen can not worship God because they do not worship him in spirit or in truth. The heathens believe not. However his sheep hear his voice and worship him, following his command to build, to design to create his house in our land for worship. Man builds it by God design on man's heart. Today worship centers have been using building not made for the dwelling of God's people. If they rent it definitely not the house of God, but it has become a place to honor God in worship and concentrated for that place of worship. It become a place before not of God and turned into a use for God. God wants to take our human hearts and souls, and make a place of his dwelling. A place he sups with our soul and spirit. He teaches and renews us day by day. David knew this type of worship with God. Yes he was anointed as king, sign the position of protecting Israel, God chosen, but he also took in the lost sheep of Israel. God's house is designed to bring in the lost to teach them not only about worship but who God is.

Those at God's footstool not his sheep is his enemy, but God even calls his enemy for we all were once his enemy and not his sheep. As a believer we are called to worship, called to our honor him in places that are not ordained to be his house. Called to worship upon the earth before the heathens that they to may worship God and bow before his presence. God's throne room demonstrates his handiwork. God's job of creating and designing is upon the face of the earth. May all worship him in belief. How far do you have to walk into the wilderness before you see God's beauty in creation, will you loose your earthly position, to gain your heavenly one, was it worth it. God took his people into the wilderness, and to a place of final worship before heaven. Some never gaining the promise because of sin, but they learned to believe in God. How far does one have to go walking in the woods to know God's created it, man could not have. It only takes a few steps to see the beauty of just tree. Sometimes in the shadow in the Almighty is a better place to rest, then in the desert heat that forces one to lean on his unchanging word, and rely on his mercy and grace. Ever generation must come to know God and come into his presence or face eternity of eternal lake of fire. Where are you in your journey of worship. We are called to worship, we called to praise his name upon the earth. Will you praise him today. Will you sing the praise of God in the presence of his enemies?

Dear Heavenly Father, let us praise you in the mist of your enemies, let us praise your handiwork, knowing even your house is filled with unbelievers as will as believers. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Psalm 110:1-2 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

1 Chronicles 28:19-21 KJV
19 All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.
