The Lamentation of Tyre In Ezekiel 08/11/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisEzekiel 27:25-36 KJV
25 The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.
26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.
27 Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
28 The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.
29 And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;
30 And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:
31 And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32 And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.
34 In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.
35 All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.
36 The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.
Fall of Tyre came in the thirteenth century A.D. The importance of this is Christ also referenced the fall of Tyre. Jesus said it be far worse a judgment on the city of Bethsaida then on Tyre. What does this mean? Jesus in Matthew and also quoted in Luke. Jesus is talking about judgment as final days of judgment not necessarily the 13th century fall prophesied by Ezekiel. Judgment can come in the 13th century and it can come at the time of judgment. The seaports of years gone by are not there as it once was from 1200 BC time frame til thirteenth AD time frame. A fall is not the final destruction of a place.
Merchants and people of wealth, people of trade, even like our own stock market, and production can fall, but it does not mean the final judgment. In my life, I even watch the fall of some nations by tv, and so forth, and yet they rise again. Tyre in thirteenth never rose again. It still has trade but not the monopoly of trade it once had. There still fishing boats but not the ships that once sail. In fact the nation of Tyre would of fallen when new trade routes were established and the take over by other countries to the final destruction of its power came to a close.
It maybe easier to understand as we look around the world and we see many nation struggle during the pandemic to keep their commerce a float. Yet most nation did far better then most would of thought with lock downs to many nations.
As Ezekiel prophesies the fall it has if he seeing a vision or physically mentally picturing what God had shared with him about Tyrus/Tyre. The weeping of the people, the ships owners, who use make the city of Tyre rich as well as other seaports. Anyone that supplies you with money an they pass, it would cause anyone to shed a few tears, because it was a supply for survival. It supply to riches and wealth. It a supply to better life.
Our nations around us count on us as we do them for supplies an wealth, and commerce. Just like our stores need locals ordering and buying from them to keep the doors open. After all shipping, packaging and even pickup has seen a rise in our land sense the pandemic. No one leaving their house, or those that do now pick up outside the store. Let us not forget those that still enter, refusing to use modern technology at their finger tips that still like walking through. We all need each other in the trade world, yet we fail to see the value, if we think we can do it all on our own. Trade simply fuels the economy. Yet it not the end of trading with towns, city, county and states.
Most would say a job is gold, and may not be the job one wants but it pays the bills. Yet in life most would agree the gold saves them, but does it protect them for eternity? No because as the old saying goes when a fad is in, it be gone the next day, so sell it while you can. In truth anyone who gone to the beach, knows you build a sand castle and tomorrow it begone because of the tide. Build a tower with block as a child and you know the tower might be taller then you, but pull the right block it will all fall. Economy is like that. Yet it usually will take more then one block pulled to crash it, and yet the Great depression of World War II proved that even large nations could fall. Famine works the same way, it effects all nations.
How does that effect final judgment, if man is trusting only in himself he will face judgment. If he trust in God, God will never fail, no matter the situation in life. It hard to say it if you only eat manna and quail. The point being God wants us to depend on him even when everything is all wrong in our life. when things are all right in the world and world markets are flourishing. We need to thank God for his power to bring us to our knees and also that same power that allows us to stand before his presence. Don't be mourning the commerce, be celebrating the power of God to move in the lives of his people that take action to protect the people and give aid to those in need. Judgment on those that deny God is real. Those that refuse to trust in him, the judgment is real. These things are just for us to use while were are here alive on this planet. Use all things for God's glory and honor. Use it for good and not evil, or we will fall like Tyre and be judged like Bethsaida.
Dear Heavenly Father move in our hearts and in our life. Help us to come to you not out of need always, but when our life is all in tune an the world is flowing smoothly. Help us to praise you at all times in our life, in Jesus precious name, Amen.

12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
