Battle Won 08/09/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisEzekiel 27:10-11 KJV
10 They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.
11 The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.
The longing of American soldiers to be able to lay all their weapons down is not just for their families but those serving our country. I said once I would not take my American flag down until I seen this happen, if I close this site the flag comes down but not in my heart. What I speaking of a time of peace in the world, where no more blood shed has to happen because our countries are in disagreement. A time when every country speaks there minds and is able to rationalize good decision, even when they disagree in other areas concerning trade, land ownership and so forth. The war of abuse ends around the world. In truth this is not a real reality in one regards. Yet to see the soldiers war uniforms laying aside is a dream of many. Persia swept through Israel and surrounding territories to eventually hang up their shields and helmets on the wall. The hearts of soldiers and family is the reality of all in battle not just American's. It an dream of many for centuries.
God's weaponry is the armor of faith. It is something that must be worn continually, and can not be hung up or laid aside even after the coming of Christ. Even the angels of heaven are wearing the garments of faith to stand against the enemy, yet the power God is all that is needed to defeat the enemy. Then why the helmet of salvation or the weapons of faith. Without this uniform we are not standing in God's grace to win against the enemy called Satan. When he is destroy our weapons are still on, it what we wear for a life time, not to be removed. A soldiers call of faith is different the weapons of man. Soldiers of war are called and paid to fight in battle. The spoils of war taken and the gather. The weapons laid down and hung on a wall to show that a person is a soldier of valor.
Israel when they went through the battle field, destroyed it all, taking nothing for profit. God in his wisdom will destroy all we know not in battle, leaving nothing behind that is not to remain for eternity. Meaning he taking us up to meet his Son Jesus in the air as he descends to us, and taking his people home to sweet Beulah land/New Jerusalem. The land we long for, the land we desire because it flowing with milk and honey. Even once their faith will remain because God is with us, so our armour of faith will be continually warn. The helmet of salvation still in place. Why because it all about faith. Believers war is not fought with weapons of war, but weapons of faith. The only thing that can be hung in our homes is the word of God, to remind us of his grace. The cross a symbol that the first battle is won and we only waiting for the final victory. It only through his triumph over the grave that we have already won the spiritual battle of faith. God marks us by his Spirit on the wall of our heart not seen by the human eye.
Being a warrior as always been, David was both a warrior of faith and warrior of battle of the human kind. Disciples only knew the weapons of faith and yet knew how to swing a sword of battle field of human flesh. The battle field of spirituality is far greater then any war of the flesh. Job faced both as Satan tried to bring pain both mentally and physically to his body. He won because of faith had already been establish. He understood not, but would gain understanding much later. Devil can not take one's faith in God away from you, that something God does not steal from you either. King Saul lost God with his disobedience, and yet he knew how to live right. His mind could not accept the emptiness of the abandonment from God. David would play the harp to sooth him, but even that one day would not prevail. Saul had an evil spirit because of disobedience to him. David decided to obey the Lord, though he was not a man without sin in his life or above correction.
Wearing God's armor is not to be without correction, obedience to faith, but to steadily hold to the cross of Jesus, to cling to the Old Rugged Cross, until the trophy we lie down at Christ feet. Two types of soldiers in scripture those of battle that were not always on God's side and a soldier of faith and battle of human war. Both with reward, but one is only eternal. The soldier of human war do get to lay their weapons down, God's people never well. Soldier of Persia only won the battle of the flesh. There battle was carnal and not spiritual. There day of destruction was coming. Yet it was coming not just physically for Rome would sweep down and over take Persia, but also the people of faith would have their freedom to worship their God once more. There faith never change though their governments would. Faith is won at the altar of faith. Bend the knee and pray asking God to forgive you and receive Christ today. Bend the knee at the heart level, because the bending physically is only a symbol of what the heart should be doing as we pray to our Heavenly Father in faith believe he is just and will forgive us all our sins because Christ died for us. Put on the armor of faith and stand, tall and brave knowing the final victory is by the power of God, that same power that raise up Jesus from the dead.
Dear Heavenly Father, we know the career of the soldier has end time, but we also know that your people will wear the armor of faith for eternity, always waiting for our power to win the war. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 6:11-13 KJV
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
