Believing the Word of God

I am your host Christina Farris. I coming live from
turtle30cshell home to present the Gospel of Jesus. Today
we are going to be talking about believing the Word of
God. What is faith one might ask? How can you believe in
God when you can not see Him. It because God’s word is
true. Man has tested the Word of God over and over and it
has been proven true without failure. Many will say the
word of God failed them. No it did not, you did not read
conditions on the word of God. Man so easily wants to
take the word of God and sin all day and all night, saying
all they have to do is believe in Jesus. Jesus says if you
love me keep my commandments. God says honor me and
obey my commands and I will bless you. Two conditions
must be meet. Love and obedience. However God also
works miracles so we can believe. Miracles are so we can
have faith to continue our journey with God, to take away
a stumbling blocks in our life. Israel was not the only
people headed to the promise land with Moses. However
they believed without the promise of salvation, because of
the miracles in Egypt. No doubt they learn what it meant to
be righteous for there were proselytes to the Hebrew faith.
Seldom is Gentile conversation mentioned in the Old
Testament. Naaman a Leper was convert and so was Ruth.
When Christ came He came for the Gentiles so that they
might believe. He came to His own and His own received
Him not. Yet to all that believe He gave them the right to
be children of God.

Now Jews did not believe in the Messiah because their
hearts were harden. Yet there were Jewish conversions
and are still today to Christianity. For faith begins first
when one believes in God. For in order to believe in the
Son of God who’s name is Jesus one has to believe there
is a God. You can not have a son without a father. Jesus
grew up in Galilee. And lived with his family and worked as
a carpenter, at thirty years of age He began his public
ministry. The first miracle Jesus did was turning water into
wine in Galilee. Though prophet are not usually welcome
in their own hometown, a prophet can be welcome after
proof of his calling. Jesus gained favor even in His own
hometown. The miracles wrought by His own hands in
Jerusalem at the feast spoke of who He was to the
Galileans, and so they believed. Let us read today’s
passage.

John 4:43-54 KJV
(43)  Now after two days he departed thence, and went
into Galilee.
(44)  For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no
honour in his own country.
(45)  Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans
received him, having seen all the things that he did at
Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
(46)  So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he
made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman,
whose son was sick at Capernaum.
(47)  When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea
into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he
would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the
point of death.
(48)  Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and
wonders, ye will not believe.
(49)  The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my
child die.
(50)  Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And
the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto
him, and he went his way.
(51)  And as he was now going down, his servants met
him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
(52)  Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to
amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh
hour the fever left him.
(53)  So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in
the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself
believed, and his whole house.
(54)  This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when
he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

A nobleman came and told Jesus his son was dying and
ask him to come. Jesus said, “your son liveth.” The man
believed and went and his servant meet him on the way
home and said “your son liveth.” The man inquired of the
hour and it was the same hour.  Can you imagine the
rejoicing that took place. No doubt this man faith was
renewed upon hearing the seventh hour, the hour Jesus
spoke to him.

How many times we fail to believe, yet it only takes the
first step of  a few words like the words the nobelman
spoke to Jesus, “come here my son dies.” The belief
already beginning with a few simple words of request. Yet
the purpose for the healing was the nobleman and his
whole household would believe. Faith comes with proof of
miracles, faith comes with proof of God, yet the first step
is belief. One can believe and not have faith. For even the
devil tremble and has no faith in God. To have faith one
not only believe but does the will of God. The man
testified to his family and they believed.

Now what position are you in. Are you already a believer,
yet have not faith in God consider today becoming a child
of God and obeying God. Faith will come but it starts with
belief. Read the word and hold God to His word when
applied to your life. Realize when you do not always get
what you want, that perhaps there is some more reading
in scripture you need to do to find out why and then fix
the problem. You may find what you want is not of God.
God will not honor all request the way we want. However
believe God desires good things for you and what He
takes He can restore.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to understanding miracles
are for a purpose to share the Gospel of Jesus. In Jesus
precious name, Amen.
