Father’s Day Message

This is Christina Farris coming live from Turtle30cshell
wishing you a Happy Father’s Day. Father’s Day is special
for we celebrate the life of our Dad as well as our
Heavenly Father. Good Father’s are nurturer’s by trait.
Yet Father’s can also be abusive and mean spirited which
is never respect by their children. Our Heavenly Father is
a Father of love. Everyone’s Dad can take a lesson in love
for his family in scripture.

Ephesians 5:25-6:4 KJV
(25)  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also
loved the church, and gave himself for it;
(26)  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the
washing of water by the word,
(27)  That he might present it to himself a glorious
church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish.
(28)  So ought men to love their wives as their own
bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
(29)  For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but
nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
(30)  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of
his bones.
(31)  For this cause shall a man leave his father and
mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two
shall be one flesh.
(32)  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning
Christ and the church.
(33)  Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so
love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she
reverence her husband.
(1)  Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is
right.
(2)  Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first
commandment with promise;)
(3)  That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live
long on the earth.
(4)  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath:
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the
Lord.

When I was a teenager my dad and I would spend many
hours fishing. One of the last fishing trips we took, dad
decide to get some cattails for mom’s flower display. Well
the boat was close enough to the cattails to be cut, but
only one minor problem when sitting in a little boat you
have to be careful not to tip that boat over when leaning
over the side. As the boat began to tip, I began to think
the boat would flip. I keep saying Dad you going to flip
the boat. Never had it happen before. We always came
home high and dry. Except for that day. The boat pitched
my Father right into the water. And fortunately he was a
good swimmer. He came up out of the water and climbed
back into the boat after making sure his wallet and Bible
was still intact. That day left me with a memory I never
forget. After all the years of fishing and some days
catching and other days coming home empty handed, I
finally had a whale of a story to tell. To this day, me and
my father smile about that day. However he did bring
home those cattails but no fish. Some days are like that
out on the water in life. Sometimes you have a story to
share and other times it just someone accidentally
capsizing the boat in life.

Our Heavenly Father desires to keep our boat afloat and
often test us. The biggest test of mankind is when he put
the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden. Man
made a choice. A choice to sin or not to sin. Man came
along and cause the boat of life to be capsized to a place
called earth. There the devil would do his best to trip all
humanity. All of us falling short of the glory of God. Man
and woman would become one flesh for the purpose of
reproduction as well as unity within the marriage.
Children would have attributes of both the Father and
mother. Children being told to honor there Father and
mother. As a child we do our best to obey our parents.
Yet some circumstance alter our goaled in life. It is still
sin.

Children of God often disrespect Him without meaning
too. Children of God often fail, but the mercy of God is
ever so complete. My earthly Father not a perfect man,
but a man of love tries his best to obey God and the law.
The law is for all of us, our respect for God and our
earthly Father is a requirement in life. However we often
fail. Both God our Father and earthly Father’s correct us
when we do wrong.

Yet our earth Father can not prevent the judgment or
invoke the mercy of God in our life. That is something we
has individuals must do by calling on the name of Jesus
and asking for forgiveness of our sin. Much like Mother’s
day message this is about Father’s obeying the
instructions of God to show mercy as our Heavenly
Father shows mercy and grace. To raise their children
with the word of God. To demonstrate the love of God
and not to provoke their children to wrath/anger.

God our Father loves us and desires us to live in
obedience to Him. However earthly father’s are either
good or bad. Each father being who they desire to be
based on either scripture, law or illegal activity. A Father
involved in sin is not a good Father. A father that makes a
mistake is a good father, with faults, most people are
raise with father’s with faults because they are human.
However not everyone can understand a Heavenly Father
because of an abusive Fathers, it does not change the
fact our Heavenly Father loves us. He loves us as His
own. He does always stop bad things from happening
because it is a part of life, however He does enable us to
overcome upon faith. Faith in Jesus causes us to be
adopted by our Heavenly Father. Until we accept Christ
as Lord, we are children of unrighteousness meaning no
faith. That is why it important to teach our children about
who God is. To teach them the love of God and His
mercy. If you do not teach them to follow Jesus, the
world will teach your children to follow the devil. To hate,
to do evil, to lust after money and more.

Dear Heavenly Father may your mercy and grace be
beyond measure upon our earthly Fathers, we ask your
protection on children that do and do not know you. May
your grace and mercy be found when the law of our land
does not intercede in abuse. Help us to protect the family
unit.  In Jesus precious name, Amen.
