Victory In Jesus
by turtle

Today coming from turtle30cshell.com I am your host
Christina Farris, today we will be journeying together from
the empty tomb of our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. What
does the empty tomb mean for the followers of Christ.
After all the place where Christ died was shaken by
earthquake and the sky darkened. The veil in the temple
was ripped between the Holies of Holies and the
sanctuary. The veil being the door to God that not all
could enter through to talk to God. The need for
intercessor came when Israel needed Moses to talk to God
for them. Yet Israel had used the veil to keep people from
God. Though there always been proselytes to the Jewish
faith, one needed an intercessor to do so. God used a
spokes men to speak to the people about Him, yet God’s
ability to speak to the individual heart has always been.
For He spoke to Noah, Abraham, David, and all the
prophets of old. Jesus through the shedding of blood on
the cross became our intercessor or doorway to God.

God had used the veil first when He sent Moses to speak
to Pharaoh and Moses needed a priest. A priest being
someone to speak for a person about God. God’s Holy
Word has always been a go between to us and Him. His
word being the bargaining chip of what He would do. Much
like a parent that tells a child the consequences if he goes
to the party that he been forbidden to go to, will be
grounded for life. When the parents execute the
punishment for the disobedience, the child life being until
he gets out of the house.

God’s word has always been a door way to Him. When
God spoke to Abraham and Abraham obeyed the voice of
God it opened a relationship with God. Yet for years God
has used prophets and teachers to speak to a people who
desire to know God or obey God. Moses a prophet of God
would learn the consequence of disobedience to the word
of God.

Christ became the High Priest, yet He was always the High
Priest to and for God. For Christ was the word of God that
became flesh. Let us read today’s passage.

John 1:1-14 KJV
(1)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God.
(2)  The same was in the beginning with God.
(3)  All things were made by him; and without him was not
any thing made that was made.
(4)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(5)  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.
(6)  There was a man sent from God, whose name was
John.
(7)  The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the
Light, that all men through him might believe.
(8)  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of
that Light.
(9)  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that
cometh into the world.
(10)  He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.
(11)  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
(12)  But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on
his name:
(13)  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the
flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(14)  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The word of God became tangible. Something human eye
could see, could understand, could grasp as being true.
Jews that would believe would understand that prophesy
of old and grab hold of Christ, yet their very heart would
be harden so Christ could be crucified. God’s word
becoming a reality to the generation of the time of Christ
and all future generations. For Christ’s Spirit descended
into the lower parts of hell and set the captives free. He
ascended to the throne taking the captives that were free
with Him to His Father’s throne.

The word of God became before it was ever flesh and
blood. Yet it became flesh and blood so all that would
believe in the name of God Son would have eternal life.
This is why no other person can take the claim of being
the only begotten Son of God. No one else can claim to be
the word of God. One can claim to be a spokesmen for
God but never the Word of God. Christ can be brother but
we are not equal to Him. We are different, we must born of
Holy Spirit to be a child of God. We are not born of His
Spirit until we receive Christ as Lord. Jesus is the doorway
to God. He has been to hell, earth, to heaven and back
again. The word of God having to die so man might know
the difference of the word of God being present. Until you
know the difference between truth and a lie, you can not
know what God speaks is the only truth that there is. We
might speak truth about many things but spiritual truth
can only come from God.

When we refuse to believe God’s word we are cut off from
the earthly promises of God like Moses who hit the rock
twice and did not get to go into the promise land of Israel.
The consequence of unbelief in what God speaks to our
hearts can cost us many things. Yet our belief in our
Savior keeps us through eternity. The veil of his blood
poured out for you and for me that covers our sin. God no
longer looks at our sin, but sees us has His dear child. If
we love God we are going to obey His word. Yet our
inward struggle of obedience is the need to resist
temptation, And only by step by step, walking in faith with
God even through our failures as a believer can we learn
that God’s Holy Word is true and that His Son paid our sin
debt, opening the door to eternal life with God.

Today is Easter or some like to call it Resurrection Day.
Either name is fine. Fact is Easter is celebration of the
victory that Jesus had over sin and death. His victory
because He was the Messiah, the perfect sacrifice for our
sins. Yes we too will experience death unless Christ
returns during our life time. Yet we have the hope that
death will only be moment and in the next moment we will
be with God, with Christ as our intercessor and hope.
