Triumphal Entry
by turtle

I am your host Christina Farris coming from turtle30cshell.
com. Today I will be speaking on the Triumphal entry. In
our video selection we have one called Palm Sunday dated
on April of 2012. Today I be looking at the Triumphal Entry
from a different angle. What is wonderful about scripture
is there many angles in which to look at a story, yet the
story does not change, God and His Son are victorious.
Christ did not plan to be king physically or take power at
the time He lived and walked this earth. The power He wish
to establish with the Gentiles had to do with belief in Him
and God. The Jews were looking for a physical king, one
that they could see with there eyes and not their heart.
Christians today seem to be doing the same thing, looking
for a physical king and not  one that rules the heart. Will
Christ return to be a physical king in the flesh. Yes one
day He will return to reign and rule with the church. That is
our hope. That one day the corruption in our governments
around the world will be no more. One must know that
corruption will remain until Christ returns. Yet we as
people can make a choice how we live, including our
political and church leaders. The job of every minister is to
speak the truth of the Gospel of Jesus, the Gospel of
Love. Let us begin by looking at today’s scripture reading.

John 12:12-16 KJV
(12)  On the next day much people that were come to the
feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to
Jerusalem,
(13)  Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet
him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that
cometh in the name of the Lord.
(14)  And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat
thereon; as it is written,
(15)  Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh,
sitting on an ass's colt.
(16)  These things understood not his disciples at the first:
but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that
these things were written of him, and that they had done
these things unto him.

Christ came for the lost and the dying, not for the
righteous. Christ came in the physical since to teach us
how to live as well as to die and live again. I often wonder
if this was a stage event, and in truth by the Holy Spirit it
was staged event. God had it planned from the beginning
that His Son would suffer for the whole world’s sin.
Triumphal entry was just one stage in the journey to the
cross. The colt tied in place for our Lord to ride on, the
palm branches gather for the waving for the entry of
Jesus. Coronation Christ did receive in tradition of the
people. Much like we do when a president is elect and he
travels down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House for
His Swearing in. Yet Christ goes to the temple and cleans
it right after His coronation. Let us look at another
passage with the story of this fine coronation.

Luke 19:29-48 KJV
(29)  And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to
Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of
Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
(30)  Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the
which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon
yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
(31)  And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus
shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
(32)  And they that were sent went their way, and found
even as he had said unto them.
(33)  And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof
said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
(34)  And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
(35)  And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their
garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
(36)  And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
(37)  And when he was come nigh, even now at the
descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the
disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice
for all the mighty works that they had seen;
(38)  Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name
of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
(39)  And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude
said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
(40)  And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that,
if these should hold their peace, the stones would
immediately cry out.
(41)  And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and
wept over it,
(42)  Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in
this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but
now they are hid from thine eyes.
(43)  For the days shall come upon thee, that thine
enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee
round, and keep thee in on every side,
(44)  And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy
children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one
stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of
thy visitation.
(45)  And he went into the temple, and began to cast out
them that sold therein, and them that bought;
(46)  Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house
of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
(47)  And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief
priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought
to destroy him,
(48)  And could not find what they might do: for all the
people were very attentive to hear him.

Christ did not go to the palace at the end of his
Coronation but to the temple. To cleanse the temple and
to teach. When one makes Jesus Lord of their life Jesus
purges the temple of their heart. Jesus comes into the
heart he sweeps us free from sin. He begins to teach our
heart His gospel of love. Disciples already made Jesus
king of their life, why because when Jesus told them to go
get the colt they went as instructed to get the colt. Part of
making Jesus Lord and King is to follow His instructions.
Abraham followed long before the sign of circumcision
came a testimony of his faith in God. God instructed him
to circumcise. The outward sign only being sign of the
inward heart. Yet today many are physically circumcised
but not spiritual circumcised by faith. So the disciples that
went to get the colt were circumcised by faith. They
believed Jesus and His word and they found the colt
where Jesus said he would be. The disciples cast there
cloak on the colt for Jesus to sit upon, and followed him
into Jerusalem. Disciples declaring him Lord and King. Yet
the understood not the events as they were happening.
The crowd join in declaring his kingship.

The religious leaders were upset by these events and
sought how they might stop Jesus. Some rebuke Jesus
and Jesus response was the rocks would cry out if the
people did not sing. Does not nature declare who Christ is.
Who the Word of God is. The day of Jesus’ death did not
the earth shake, did not sky darken happen. Of course the
earth declared who Jesus was as He hung on the cross
and died.

Right after the religious leaders rebuke Jesus, He enters
the temple and turns the money changers out declaring
that His House was a house of prayer, but ye have made it
a den of thieves. Who’s house did Jesus declare it was?
God’s house that right. When you ask Jesus into your
heart to live, it is no longer just your house, it is his too.
When a man and woman become husband and wife, and
they move in together it is both his and hers and not only
his or only hers. Some people let Jesus in the door, but
not on a permanent bases. They hear the gospel and even
act on it, but they refuse to make Jesus more then a guest
of their heart. They refuse to make Him Lord.

The temple had been rebuilt and God had been welcomed
in the temple, but corruption soon followed. The need for
greed had taken over. Ever thought to why this perhaps
happened. Will at the time of the exile, the priest work in
the palace. These leaders having influence in high places
were also influence by the wealth of the kings of that day.
Remember Jesus said you must choose God or mammon.
Mammon being gold. Money has odd effect on some
people. Some desire more money, some desire enough to
pay the bills and others desire less money and more of
God working in their life.

Where are you at today, are you willing to follow Jesus all
the way to the cross? Are you willing to follow His
instruction? Are you ready to let Him be Lord of your life
today, then pray this prayer with me.

Dear Heavenly Father I know I am a sinner and Christ died
for me. He rose again to give us victory over sin to all that
will believe. I ask Jesus into my heart to be Lord of my life.
Help me to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit that you
sealed me with upon the day of my salvation. In Jesus
precious name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer with the sincerity in your heart
you are saved, welcome to the family of God.
