Lesson 85:
The Law of The Old That is Covered in the New Testament:

Matthew 27:58-66 KJV
(58) He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
(59) And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
(60) And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
(61) And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
(62) Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
(63) Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
(64) Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
(65) Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
(66) So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

I find it interesting in Matthew account covers a bit more information about the day and the following day of the crucifixion then the other Gospels. Matthew records the events of the Sabbath day of rest. There is a space of the body not being guarded. Is this flaw in thinking no Matthew records it along with the rumor of the body possibly being stolen. No other Gospel tells these things. So any false prophet would easily be able to say Jesus never arose, but the body was stolen during this time period. Jews priest had gone to Roman counsel and asked Roman counsel to work on the Sabbath. Why because Roman’s did not honor the Sabbath. Jesus’ people and Jewish counsel were able to watch until the Sabbath. Then they had to purify themselves after leaving the tomb to honor the Sabbath. They would not be allowed in the temple because of unseemliness of death. Customary to avoid a tomb or dead body when serving God in the temple, do to purity religious laws. They need someone to guard the body that they hope would decrease the chances of the body being taken.

Family in mourning sat by the sepulcher yet Sabbath was coming, they would have to depart. The grief of mourning their beloved Jesus. The one that had raised Lazareth, and other dead corpus. What the point one might ask. The myth of the stolen body was possible, but not likely and here is why. The priest made sure the Roman’s themselves did not steal the body because the priest was sure to tell them if the body was stolen it would cause uprising among the people. Jesus had become greater then Moses and Samuel while on earth. The mass healing was proof. Priest had wanted to bury the legend of a man that sweep Jerusalem and all of the Jewish and surrounding areas he pass through of His day. They wanted this legend to die, because of his claim to be God and super human ability to destroy and resurrect a temple. They want the possible of rebellion against the Jewish law to be abolished. They wanted the body to remain, because no doubt they had heard the rumors of Lazareth death and did not believe. Romans go and watches the tomb.

Both religious leaders and law was making sure the tomb remained with Jesus in it locked away forever into a sea of forgetfulness over time. Most thought Buddha, Mohammed, and Roman gods and goddess would pass, but there people still worshiping idols and not God. What makes Jesus special is He rose from the tomb, there was quake that shook the earth. An earthquake that rolled the stone away, or maybe it was after shock from the earthquake that ripped the veil in the temple. Already people were claiming Jesus as the Son of God. The soldier that stood at the cross. Seeing the dead rise, knew that what was happening was beyond their comprehension. The leaders need to keep control of the people. Guard was given to the tomb. Not Mohammed, or Buddha raised themselves out of the tomb. No other religious leader in history was to say raised themselves from the tomb.
What the point if the tomb is empty then it would cause a stir that the government and religious leaders could not stop. So it is Christianity is still running rapted in the streets of our land because of the Saving power of Jesus. Because Jesus remained in the tomb until the third day.

As Christians around the world concentrate on the resurrection let us not forget the day between Friday and Sunday and importance of observance of the Sabbath as well as the tomb. The quakes enough to rise the dead, and rip veil in the temple had caused a stir. The shock had been enough. The crucifixion alone had been enough to shake the world. After all Samuel and Moses are still talked about in religious circles. No one but God could of stolen that body out of the grave.

Dear Heavenly Father may you keep the hope of Christ in our hearts by evidence of the guarded tomb. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

The Trial

The Trial

John 18:19-27 KJV
(19) The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
(20) Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
(21) Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
(22) And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
(23) Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
(24) Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
(25) And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
(26) One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
(27) Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.

If all Jesus taught was spiritual truth, parables and the law, then why were these priest so angry with Jesus. It was ushering in the gentile nation, it was teaching the Jews of the time, of how to deal with spirituality under another leader. Yet Jesus was smacked across the face by the Priest. Caiaphas is said to have gotten saved after the resurrection of Jesus. Yet here he is clearly abusive and angry with Jesus. One Jesus stirred up a crowd. Jesus had a way of making people think. Way of making them think about their own faith. It was taking money away from the temple. Peter own denial of who Jesus was is only a testimony of who Peter worshiped which was God. Jesus worshiped God. Yet He was more then a Son, He was the prince of peace, He was Lord of Lords. This perhaps is one reason most people can accept Jesus as being a prophet or even a leader of His day. Yet most deny Him as being equal to the Father. Most consider that blaspheme. Yet it is explained in the first chapter of John, the He was the Word of God in the flesh, the one promised. Not until His resurrection would people believe His words of who He truly was.

To look at the crucifixion and to know Jesus was smacked during the first trial and beaten before going to the cross gives light to the primitive culture of that day, this would not happen in our court rooms. Yet no doubt a few lawyers have wanted to smack those on trial. That is the point. Yet some not understanding the cross or the purpose says you concentrating on a trial that happen so many years ago why? It over move on. And Yet with the knowledge of who Christ is the very core and foundation is lost. Not knowing Jesus is shutting up the word of God. Shutting down the knowledge of God to a point that those knew to faith must grab hold of God and not their leaders. Those following certain teachers are thus force to find out if their own faith is real. Forcing them to go out in the world to love.

Jesus was persecuted for our sake, so we understand the value of the Word of God, all this that is spoken is taught in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. Jesus beard would be plucked is mention in the Old Testament, the beating is spoken of, and Him hanging on a cross is told. What more do we need to know concerning the prophesy of His suffering to know it happened? It is the knowledge of why it happened, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one lives up to the word of God. No one could of stayed in paradise without falling, stop blaming Adam for your own sin.

Dear Heavenly Father may your grace and truth be discovered by all that seek you. The knowledge and wisdom of your sacrifice for all generation, must be realized. It is the sacrifice since the beginning of time. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

In The Cold

John 18:15-22 KJV
(15) And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
(16) But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
(17) Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.
(18) And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.

I got to looking at this passage this morning. Frustrated that I have not been able to do regular updates the past few days. The problem occurs when things get updates in the tech world at yahoo. No matter how synchronize with new software is there going to be an error sooner or later. Here is my point. Nothing is ever perfect, except God. And with there always going to be imperfect until the return of Christ. Yet before He was nailed to the cross, there was compassion for Peter who stood in the cold night air following Jesus. Most probably miss the portion of the disciple leaving and one enter in. Judas probably was the one leaving the scenes of Jesus’ trial before the religious leaders at night. Yet there was Peter who stood at the door, not entering. No doubt Judas told the doorkeeper that Jesus’ disciple. And Peter perhaps stood at the door saying no, I am not. Also betraying Jesus for Judas sake, and to protect himself.

This denial taking place prophesied by Jesus. This denial of standing at the door but looking in at the warmth of the fire. How many of us want the warmth of the world, but feel the outcastness, because we worship Jesus. To deny gives one comfort of the fire of the world for a time, but bring everlasting torment and shame.

There is a point his morning. The enemy comes by ever so close, even seeing his presents. Yet we know that God’s protection in the storms in the middle of the night. Peter was going through a storm he would never forget, especially when he found grace in which to stand. Judas found no grace, because he did not seek Jesus but the religious leaders. He sought the wrong people who would not forgive, only wanted revenge.

Dear Heavenly Father help us to know sometimes our mistakes are for a purpose. If nothing more to give the enemy one last chance to repent in order to receive forgiveness. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Why no updates

This is Easter/Resurrection week, and I can’t post on my website, be warned not to til they get the problem fixed. Anyway, I might anyway, but you know it only messes with technical people. However I have not had a break in 8 years besides having surgery. Yet what I been doing would be called benevolent work. In truth I never think about how many hours spent online as work. I think I learn as much as I also share. We all learn something from each other over the years, whether it talking to people in the street, or online, it matters not, everyone has something they can share. If I got paid for sharing, I be rich. However I am rich indeed, just not on earth. The point to this post this AM. is God bless us all with something we can give. All have talents, and some gifts that are ordained directly from God to use in His service, perhaps only because we willing to yield to God.
Think about it. If God real to you, then you know there something in yourself you could not do.

One more note updates will not resume to the issue is resolved.

The Law Of The Old That Is Covered In The New Testament

The Law Of The Old That Is Covered In the New Testament:

God’s grace is sufficient beyond the laws of God, but it nice to know what God expects from us.
Romans 5:14-21 KJV
(14) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
(15) But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
(16) And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification.
(17) For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
(18) Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
(19) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
(20) Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
(21) That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Weekly update

The Law Of The Old Testament Is Covered In The New Testament
Were on lesson 50-56.

Updates are not always first here the reason being that updates on my main website page is generally updated when anything new comes along, it just does not have rss feed though. Trying to get back into the groove of writing. Yet last year was a bit of a challenge to write.

To write for me is free expression, and knowledge not everyone will agree bothers me little. Faith in God(Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is individual choice.
