1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Have you ever had a container of any kind and you place objects in it only to forget what you put in it, until the hour of need. We has humans have a huge brain that seems to store things of value as well as thing of no value in it. Our heart stores the very core of our true nature, and soul holds the key to perhaps the brain and the heart in which it tries hard to protect. There is not a day that goes by that I sit and type that I wonder what going to land up on my computer screen to pass on to you. Yet scripture reminds me of something interesting the gospel be hid, it is hid in them that are lost. It is those hours of darkness or alone time, that God often reveals that Gospel that is hidden to the sinful man. He shows man what it is about, which is faith, love and hope. He shows man that we become righteous through faith in his Son Jesus, the word of God in the flesh.
Why are we worthy to be a child of God, it has to do with righteousness of faith. The minute of faith comes that moment of worthiness to be God's child. Well what does worthiness have to do with this hidden gospel in the soul of sinner. It has to do with the seed of faith stored in the sinner heart waiting to take root and bloom. It is the first seed of faith planted and stored within the heart, mind and soul of a sinner, that is something the sinner grabs hold of as being perhaps true, or perhaps speaks to the heart and soul of sinful man, that there is a better solution or way in life. That God's way is best, that God made arrangements for our salvation. One of the things that makes us worthy to be a child of God is receiving salvation God's way. Receiving faith God's way. Not creating faith our way, but coming to God in our humility and our brokeness as vessels of clay that need mending and repairing with truth of God's word.
Our vessels are but clay for original man was made from the dust of the ground. Yet we more then clay, but like stainglass window with light shining into our hearts. That light is the light of Jesus. When light of Jesus shines on those seeds richly planted in the soul of a sinner, then it brings forth life, to all that receive the light of God's word. Our worthiness comes from being a jar of clay, a vessel for honor by faith in Christ Jesus. When we refuse to allow the light in, we remain a vessel of unworthiness if we refuse to have faith God's way. God's seeds planted but not nourished by the Gospel of Christ but nourished by enemy and his words that twists God's word into deception and unbelief. Who are we listening to in our hearts, the word of God or the enemy's word. Eve listen to the enemy, and found herself to be not only outcasted but trying to hide the truth of sin from God. God desires us to omit our sin to him, to come in our humility of our imperfection and then believe that his Son died on the cross for our sins. That the price is paid for our sin, that we are a child of God because of his love for us. That love planted in sinful man to grow to rise up within to know the truth of God's grace for man, yet man still has to believe. Belief comes with the reality of those seeds of faith are planted. The seed of healings, the seed of wonders, and the seed of his word. The very thing that convinces a person of the reality of God is the first seed that is the beginning of faith that arises in the heart of man. However it takes more then that seed to save a person, for even the devil believes in God. The second seed would be the seed of faith in Christ, the very seed that says I believe and accept God's word as being true and I receive his salvation plan through Christ Jesus. Third seed of faith would be that I am sinner in the need of salvation. That God's word is the only salvation for man, that Jesus being the word in the flesh is the only one that can save me. My works can not save me. I must be saved by the way God designed, and not the way of the enemy. I got to do it God's way and I willing do so in full repentance for sin and faith in Christ Jesus.
Seeing God's word in action does not convince you of his reality or his plan of salvation being the only solution, you are truly not a child of God, It is the action and word of God that brings forth faith in Christ. It is the seed in our darkest hour of stress that teaches us of Christ reality through his word hidden and planted in our hearts, soul and mind. It is testing the reality of the word, no watching the word of God take flight in our life by its reality. God had to reveal himself to man through his love for man. Through the reality of truth of His word planted in hidden in man.
Dear Heavenly Father take your word and plant it in the heart of sinful man so they to might receive the benefit of your great love for them by the word of truth and hope found in Christ Jesuse. That your word will show them your love and grace for their life. That their vessel will become one of honor and not dishonor. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
