Who Believed Our Report
9/25/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 10:1-21 KJV
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

What is spread across the media is either believed or it is not. It is believed or denied by those in observance. The worse case senerio in the world of the false report can lead to mass chaos and destruction of truth. With technology being what it is, it to easy to falsify evidence in the world. Yet in Bible day report of crime against God did not go unnoticed by believers. In fact the watchers of faith were probably so much in vogue to declare something of God whether it was or not. Every crime committed against God, if a man seemed to be punished shortly after God was given credit, or perhaps even later if the crime remembered and it was a horrible death. Was all these death and punishments linked to God probably not so, unless investigation occurred. Yet if man understood from past crimes God punished, if the same event occured again or the crime was worse, and the punishment came to that person when he sinned, then God was given credit for the correction. In the continual scripture study below we find Lamech had two wives, but he killed a man, to his own personal injury between him and God for Cain was avenged seven time, what will Lamech be revenged, but seventy time. We know Cain was punished by being cast out of God's sight. Though we know not all the trouble Cain had after that event, he was also marked to keep from being killed. The reports of punishment for sin would of exploded across the land, these two reports are noted in scripture, one only two verse and the other almost a full chapter of crime and sentence by God in chapter 4 of Genesis if you read the full chapter.

God had a problem going on in the world the knowledge of his punishment may of out weight in man's mind all the good God did for the believers. Yet God called all people to obedience to him alone. There would be people from all walks of life that search God of Israel out and Israel herself was given the knowledge of God by God and did nothing to seek God out in regards to know who he was. A sad day when people reject God based only on another person's testimony of what God has done. It is a good day when people search out who God is to know for themselves of who God truly is. For God found people that believed and wanted to know him not of the tribe of Israel and people that knew God because this is what is taught that had no desire to know him and others that desired to know him based on teaching. Some out of fear and trembling and others out of joy of knowing a God cared about his people. Rahab the harlot believed the reports about God destruction to those in Israel path in the wilderness to the point she helped the spies of Israel escape from her town knowing they would return to destroy her village and the men gave her and her family protection.

If report of God to the world should go, God loves all people. He is not particular about what you look like, or who you are in regards to nationality and so forth.God is not prejudice of a people. God is a God that wants to set people free from yoke of bondage of disobedience called sin, through Christ Jesus. God first shows us in scripture the price of no word or law beyond the sacrificial law of faith. The law of faith that Adam and Eve did not obey, neither did Cain. Lamech when he killed it may of had nothing to do with burnt offering or jealousy, scripture does not say, but Lamech was in fear of God. The second thing God did was establish the law to a group of people to help them spread his love, showing the simplicity of faith through common sense obedience that others did that never heard the law. That same group of people found the law of God to be taxing when followed, that their hearts turned from a God that they did not fear, or fear the outcome of what he might do.

Yet God was a God to even those that sought him who he did not look for, because He honors all that would call upon his name, and gave hope to them that believed. For the sought the law of God because it was righteous to the children of Israel and established by God through the Prophet Moses, it was law that declare them clean by the sacrifical law of faith in God, and forgiveness of sin came by the ritual offerings for sin. Christ came to abolish the sacrificial law and to establish all that would believe in Him would be saved. God sent his Son to pay the price for sin, that whoever confess Jesus as Lord would be saved from eternal punishment.

We know Christ came to us from above and went to the depth of the earth to rise again, in order for the Gospel of peace to be preach to the world. The Gospel of peace is the hope of God that comes through faith in Christ Jesus his Son. Just like the pole in the wilderness that Moses set up to protect the people that were being bit by poisonous snakes, that with faith God would heal them if they only look at the serpent on a pole. Sometimes when we see that serpent image of bitting the people only to also bring relief, we fail to see the point of what God is truly saying to us. If we would look to the teaching of God, Christ and the Holy Spirit and follow the instructs that rest there, our feet would not be bitten by the serpent that would like to hit our achilles heel every time we walk and plant God's garden. Devil takes a chunk out of us every time we refuse to believe God or believe his word that our sins are first forgiven by faith in his Son Jesus, who before he came to earth was the very word of God that came in human flesh for you and me. Whether we walking in faith or not, people are watching, and if we be of God and our action speak hope to the world, then people see the hope we have in faith, if our action speak evil, they see the evil that befalls man for unbelief or sin. Even the devil believed but kept on sinning to the point he going to fiery pit for eternity. We choose faith to be either a follower or non follower of God for salvation comes to all that look to Christ. To all that confess Jesus as Lord.

Isaiah the prophet asked God who believed our reports? Yet above it says how lovely are the feet that preach good news. The salvation of those that follow in Christ footstep, tell a story of hope to the world. God in his wisdom does not always prevent things, but he will take you through them in away that you know His presence is there. His hand is upon the situation, that He has walked through this before and knows how to keep your feet from slipping. God does not forsake any follower Jew or Gentile, he receive all that will follow after Him through Christ, our redeemer and Lord who paid our sin debt between God and Him, for we sin because of our humanity of inperfection, not being able to understand what God is doing in our life at times. We sin not to boast, but because of anger that things are not going our way, but I guarantee it going God's way. His will is being performed in our life. It better to be on the team that will win that can not be destroyed then the team that is built for destruction. Yet when God's people are failing into destruction of man, God is there ready to lift them into places and positions that devil can not stop from happening called heaven. Christians mayrter in faith were symbols of a hope of tomorrow, for they die for the cause of Christ doing good and teaching peace as Christ did. Christians are called not to sin, but sin occurs because of who we are as human beings, and so we are not like Lamech who feared what would befall him because of his crime of killing, but our fear is dissolved with the power of the cross, that if we confess our sin He is faithful to forgive us of all unrighteousness, yet it not a license to sin, but it saying God knows he created us not perfect like him and that is why He offers us peace through Christ Jesus to those that believe. To believe the report of Christ is enough to begin salvation, but salvation is a work of progress not just upon belief but daily following in obedience to God in truth and righteousness of faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Prophets, teachers, preachers and your only begotten Son to give a good account of your blessings to the world that all mankind might be saved through faith your Son Christ Jesus if we would only believe. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Genesis 4:23-24 KJV
23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
