Covenant Of Peace

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Isaiah 54:1-17 KJV
1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

In verse 10 of Isaiah 54, it speaks of the covenant of peace. One of the beautiful things about scripture is the beauty of prophesy and completion of prophesy fulfilled to the world. God calls his people woman, and even bride. He speaks of Christ as Redeemer. He to is our Redeemer. The promise of our Redeemer is like the promise of Noah not to flood the entire earth again. For a long time as a child I understood not that the promise given to Noah was not about local or regional flooding, it was about the entire earth. Until you seen flooding or seen even small effects of flooding, one can only imagine a global flood. Why did it take so long to recede. How many people lost their life on the earth that day. Despite God given ability to build an ark, Noah needed talent to build it to make it look exactly like the Lord told him. The Lord was in the building of the ark. He still in the building of the ark. What is the ark but a place of safety for all habitation that will believe. This ark is not for a gully washer, but global destruction. The covenant of peace is to the individual that believe. The promise of salvation for eternity. The mountain shall be moved and hill removed, but He won't break his covenant with us. The problems that cause our separation from God is no more. The separation of sin is removed and God will hold to his promise of peace, of salvation through his Son. Israel will inherit new children, the gentile nation. And the Lord God will teach the children.

The simple truth of God's promises remaining for eternity. We hold to those promise as gold, and yet we find a new builder which God created who is the smith to the flame the fire and instrument for his work. Does it not sound like Who John the Baptist spoke in Luke 3:17 KJV "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable." What is happening is a translation into the time. God is creating tools from the fire. Believer is called vessels, tools and wheat. God is taking these vessels of faith making tools for the kingdom and we scatter and gather like wheat. We are planted and raised up only to be brought to the barn for the threshing of the wheat and any chaff is then destroyed by fire.

What can we know but that no weapon that is formed against us will prosper. Yet the weapon that was formed to kill Christ did not prosper. Though he was crucified, and buried, he rose again. We are not just facing persecution without hope, nor do we face persecution with out knowing it will not last. Those that condemn us at the judgment seat will no longer be able condemn us. We are also precious stone that is laid for the building blocks of the kingdom of God. And these stones are precious gems or carbuncles(stone that sparkles). We are not just suffering in this world in vain. It is for a purpose and the purpose is to allow God to strength and to build us up for his glory. To allow him to create in us a person worthy of being in His kingdom. He purges our sins, and continues showing us the way of truth and righteous. Showing us the way of evil has no fruit. Sometimes we live in a time of unfruitfulness so we can purged of the sin and hurt from our life. God knows what he is doing. He knows how to build. He instructed Israel on how to build the tabernacle/tent in the wilderness and taught them how to build a temple. Israel came from nomadic tribe of people/shepherds and tenders of the field. To increase they tents were to increase their offspring and their offspring came from both natural source and gentiles. Not a mystery there in 1 and 2, but what God really speaking is about spiritual offspring. God spoke of both physical reality and spiritual reality. The increase of his kingdom where there is no end. The kingdom that will never pass away. God did leave Christ on the cross but returned to raise him up. That space of time from death to resurrection is only a moment. Perhaps it was that moment God needed to reflect on those events that occurred before raising Christ up. verses 7 it says only for a moment have I forsaken thee. What happened but the ground shook and sky darkened, dead rose from the grave. God's holy people that were dead were raised up, and taken home. Small separation of time. Yet is the promise of what was seen that gave hope to new believers upon understanding.

Our complete picture is never fully understood, but we are not left behind, for the promise coming through the Son is throughout eternity. There is no other Savior. The story of cross will be passed down from generation to generation to give the world hope of eternal salvation for His people but it not a nation choice as it was with Israel before the time of Christ it is now individual. Salvation has always been individual for the gentile. For gentiles always had opportunity to believe in God, but when salvation came it was gift of God. Yet God makes it clear through His Son, that we are forgiven when we repent and believe in Him. The promise is sealed by the Holy Spirit on each believer. The seal can not be removed. The promise coming throught the only begotten Son to the children of God. The fear of not performing the right sacrifice is no longer necessary. Christ came to remove the sacrifical law. The law of legalism from us. It was destroying us and dividing us.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for salvation through your Son that whosoever believeth will have eternal life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:Matthew 27:52-54 KJV
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
