Peace When Anger Should Be
9/07/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 45:1-16 KJV
1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.
3 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
9 Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:
10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
11 And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.
13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.

I chosen Joseph last few days to emphasize how we know not the journey in full understanding of the days head but the outcome of the past has a purpose. We are God's projects. When we except Jesus Christ as Lord, he begins to recreate us not only into the likeness of Christ image, but also it to a person of not only worth, but shines us up so the world can see the beauty of his creation. We do not have to be evil to begin to believe in God in the since of horrible person. Joseph was never what you say a horrible person, just maybe a little to boastful in a way that got him into trouble with his family. Yet it did not get him in trouble with God. God took the life of Joseph and brought him to the palace by the way of the dungeon. The dungeon brought him to place of vision, only to now see his protective hand over his family. He turned his family mistake into lemonade. He made that sour lemon that life dealt him and had his family see it as a cool refreshing drink of lemonade. Meaning He did not allow his family to grieve over what they did to him years ago. Though this story above does not start when he first seen his family had come in need of food, he does not tell them on their first visit. Only on their second visit does he reveal who he is. Was Joseph anger so much he had to wait, did he not put Simeon his brother in jail on the first visit. Truth did Joseph need time to deal with his own emotions, the answer is I believe so, but proof his where he turns and weeps in Genesis 42. What then can we say, when the brothers returned with their youngest brother, it was enough to know all his brothers were alive to cause him to wait no longer but to reveal who he was to all eleven of his brothers. Why did he reveal it to all eleven because he was ready to tell how God had sent him before them to make preparations for them. God's design of peace for the family in time of trouble.

One might not think of God being a God of peace when we see all the horror that befell Joseph early years, but when it came down to it, God was preparing a place for Joseph and His family. Can we fully grasp God's provision for his people. God loves his people even in times of war, famine, and storms of all kinds. It does not mean there is never a loss of life, Lot(Abraham's nephew) lost his wife when Sodom and Gomorrah was destroy because she looked back. Obedience is necessary in a storm. Obedience is necessary on the mountaintop and in the valley. Yes there are times we get mud in our face when we fail to obey God. How we deal with the hand God deals you is important. Is it positive or negative? We all have moments where we like to seek revenge, but revenge can not be. Leave the revenge to God. God will repay. God molded Joseph into a ruler. What is God molding you to be? God means peace to you when you believe and receive His Son as Lord. Jesus being that peace offering between him and us. God of the Old Testament is God of the New Testament. Remember if you walking in mud all you need is a good foot washing. How God washes us, is allowing us to see his purpose and his plan for our life. A quick review was all Joseph needed to know God's purpose for family.

Dear Heavnely Father bring us to account ability to that place of fulfilling prophesy in our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:2 Corinthians 4:6-18 KJV
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
