Light To The Gentiles And Glory To Israel
10/5/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 2:25-33 KJV
25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

God in his great love for man sent Jesus to be the savior and light to the gentiles and also Israel. Driving down a darkened road at night without the headlights of each other no one would see another vehicle coming. That is an accident waiting to happen. Yet when you have two people that have the light of the Messiah, then the glory(light of God) is able to shine forth on the world. Israel is missing the light of their salvation in one sense yes and in another sense no. God is there salvation, because they are God's chosen people. They are people that do not always believe the word of God or the message within in the word of God. Simeon was old but not blind to the word of God, he had waited to see the salvation of his Lord that God had promised him. He waited to see the promise Messiah who would be a light to the Gentile and the glory of the people of Israel. How does Christ shine in Israel if they do not believe he is the Messiah. He is born into Jewish family, He is most honor among the Gentile believers as being equal to God and the Son/ Word of God, a part of God. Without God there is no light of Christ. No light coming from human flesh, no word coming from above. no hope through prophesy. Yet you put the prophetic word, that became flesh, and the word of God speaking through that flesh to man, healing the sick, both Jew and Gentile, wonders being performed in the sight of both Jews and Gentiles and you see the light of God. The light that ministers to our hearts that truth of who God is and who His Son is. There would be Jews that would believe too.

Christ and His Father will light up the New Jerusalem and there be no need of light to see by. There is only light day and night. In the begining there was only darkeness until God said let there be light, and then he separate the light from the darkness. He will one day separate the darkness of our world and we will only have light inside the New Jerusalem. There will be no darkness, no evil within the world. Do we need a physical light to see by in our New Jerusalem or is all things spiritual and is the light spiritual light. Let us stop for a moment is God speaking about spiritual light of truth that not of him in Revelation 21. The stars and moon. No more need of ministers or angels, for God and Christ is the only light needed. After all we take on a uncorruptable body in heaven and in the New Jerusalem. Are we ever blinded by the spiritual light, as Paul, until his conversion to Christianity. Paul could see when he was healed, the light of Christ in his heart as he believed in Jesus. His earthly blindness gone and changed to sight once more. God had to blind him to demonstrate the brillance of Christ light in the world, that those he sought to kill light was brighter then his world. See even Gentiles believed the Gospel message, even believe God's word when they heard it before Christ came in human flesh. Rehab the harlot only being one, and Ruth being another. One living a harlot life style and the other living in matrimony as a widow according to her culture. Both believers, but both living in society that did not follow God's word or believe in God's laws. Ruth coming to live like Rehab in a culture design to shine only the light of God's word in life style and in truth. Both knowing the value of God's word. God's word teaching both and producing faith and fruit in both.

The light of God and Christ will lead the new nation of Jerusalem once more. When is this time period it is when Christ returns, it is after the final judgment of God. It is when all his people are gather from the four corners of the earth. Yet we see the time of Simeon of the light be produced in physical form, so man might believe and receive. God's love being demonstrated to all nations of that time. Yet it was for the glory of nation of Israel for the world to see the reality and glory of God.

Dear Heavenly Father, let your light so shine in our hearts that others can see your light, for we live in this time period of Christ expected return. May our nation and nation's around us flow with the light of Christ during a time of seeing your greatness in our world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Revelation 21:22-27 KJV
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Genesis 1:3-4 KJV
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
