Thanksgivings Countdown 25 Days: What Are You Offering For Thanksgiving This Year? 11/12/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLeviticus 2:13 KJV
13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
Colossians 4:1-6 KJV
1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
There are some culture that are far removed in society that offer thanksgiving of praise upon everything they do, from rising out of bed, to cooking their food, to sitting at the table, to driving a vehicle, to going to work, to even answering a phone. Most people I know are not there yet in regards to that many blessings or words of thanksgiving in their daily life. Most would assume it is culture, but should it be a form of culture, or faith. I struggle with this issue myself on a daily bases because sometimes I do not think the words are just on my tongue as they were once as a child and my question am I complacent in my faith. The answer is probably not. It is because we get use to being around people who maybe don't express their faith but are very religious. Instead they express their faith through their actions and not their verbal skills. However if our thoughts are 100% on the Lord 24/7 should our minds at least have the sacrifice of thanksgiving on it in everything we do. I will tell you, you can become no earthly good, if all you do is say Praise the Lord 24/7. What should we offer with our speech, definitely not a word of cursing, though stub you toe a dozen times and see what you utter from your lips. Be careful what you utter because what may sound like perhaps a prayer is really taking Christ name in vain? Beware how are you using what you say. Then let us speak real on the matter.
Now in Jewish law every offering/oblation of meat was to be seasoned with salt. Our words should be seasoned with salt of God's word, but how much is to much and how little is to little is perhaps the bigger question. Saying bless you, may sound religious but what is your action that day. Is saying I am praying for you, without action enough. Saying God is in control but how are you allowing God to be in control. Saying I am consumed by my own words is only saying we lost our salt or our offering of sacrifice of praise that is supposely suppose to be on our lips. If we are a slave to Christ who is in heaven, then are we living in obedience to his ways. Most of us if we are truthful will say I try my best today, but yeah I fail. To be slave or a servant is prehaps not words understood today. It doing our part in service to our faith in God and Christ Jesus.
How should we pray about our problem? Pray with the request for a open door to speak the utterance of God. Where does that open door begin it begins in your own heart. It begins in your own mind. It begins when opportunity to share God's word comes to be. Sharing God's word online, even on social media must be more then just a verse or a praise, it must come from within the heart as a witness of who God is and the relationship he wants to have with all people. There are times I feel bogged down by repeat chain mail of praise, with no meat within it, in a person's life. I sure others feel that way too. Yet are we so afraid to share something personal about the Lord has done for us? Not in the least, because I know when I pray, God does hear and does answer his children, not always as we desire, but according to his will and purpose in our life. That is bold to say my desire does not always line up with God's desire because I get a different response from God then the one I desired. The open door slammed shut but another opens, or it slams to, with no though of where the next door may lie.
How we share and what we share is preparing us for the offering of salt to the Lord. Preparing the lost to receive Christ as Lord. Lot's wife turned to a pillar of salt because she disobeyed and look back on her former home, and seen the wrath of God being poured out on her village. No meat of Lot's wife remained, only the salt that been poured out on her life. When we give our hearts to Jesus, we are offering our soul to him, our life to him and he pours the word into our hearts and souls, to use when the door is ready, and not before. Salt of God's word, the salt being applied to the meat of those around us, so they know the truth of the value of the salt, or be consumed by the wrath of disobedience to God like Lot's wife. Did not the word of God testimony remain.
Even the devil knows God's word and uses it. Guess what remains, the word. God's not leaving his people, his word will remain, even when nothing around us remain, like the heaven and the earth on judgment day. Think when a baby is born, that bubble he/she lived in for nine months burst and is born into the world. When the heavens and earth is destroyed, it be like just like that, we coming out of our cocoon into the reality of God that we only understand in a finite state of being. The infinite power of God will be truly seen and known by our minds, spirits, and hearts. When the world is in position for the return of Christ, something new and wonderful will happen and those not of faith, will be like Lot's wife.
Those that believe will be like our crucified Lord, with our sins buried and us resurrected with him into the newest of life. When we are born again there is a change within us, but there is also one more transformation and that when we either meet Christ in the air or when we die and receive our new bodies at either time. Now two transformation taking place one upon receiving Christ as Savior and then when we meet Jesus for our final journey with God. Those in heaven that return with Christ will know that journey is just beginning for those raptured up to meet him.
Where are we in salting the meat, are we praying for the open door to share Christ with thanksgiving on our lips, with a testimony of faith, with salt, ready for those captive by sin. Let us not forget the blessings of other believers that receive the salt offered with thanksgiving and salt it too with many around them. You know that revival right in the middle of the store with others testifying. yes it does happen. There those with that gift, I seen and witnessed those testimonies of faith. It is salt that applied sends the congregation rejoicing from the gathering and those onlookers asking what wrong with those people, but not uttering a word. Let us make sure they know the testimony is about Jesus. Let us make sure our praise offered is our own not just another experience. God real, can we share what God has done. Can we praise God with thanksgiving, can we ask for the open door to share. That the mysteries of our Savior is made clear to those around us. That needs to be our prayer and our action. May we ask God to salt our words that we utter, and that our utterance be a testimony of faith.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to share and testify your mysteries about Christ to those around us. May our lips offer the sacrifice of praise and may we not loose one more piece of meat to the devil that steals the soul of man from the altar of praise.(Lot's wife would of had a story if she had not looked back). In Jesus precious name, Amen.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
