Thanksgivings Countdown 25 Days: Thankful For The Peacemakers 11/10/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisLeviticus 4:35 KJV
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
Ephesians 2:4-22 KJV
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Isaiah 45:7 KJV
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
If you travel between States, Internationally, or even just in our own Continent, laws vary. The idea of one world order seems foreign to most of us even in states that are different then each other. Yet there is a common law that binds all our states together and it called Federal law and the laws that bind other countries together is international laws. We get all these laws together and we discover within the laws we do not always agree with our state, county or even communities. Yet they exist for a purpose to help keep people from destruction, chaos, and evil intent towards each other. Sometimes the idea of all nations, all places having one set of rules seem nice, but at the same time our differences is sometimes what unites us. However if there was one world order which laws would you keep and which ones would you toss out the door so everyone could be happy and at peace.
Now in scripture man was to offer the sacrificial offering to bring peace between God and him. Now we got to remember if one sinned like Jonah by running away, there would be consequences to sin, and you do not want to be caught on a ship with a sinner. It like the scenerio of flying on a plane and you hope it not the pilot or anyone elses day to die. They might die, but how you come out of the wreckage will depend on your misfortune, good fortune, just plain fate or God's plan for your life. Everyone on board for a purpose, but what purpose is that one on board for. Jonah shipmates would worship God after they threw Jonah overboard and the seas became calm, and Jonah is now fast aboard a fish created for the purpose of swallowing Jonah. Eve fate after punishment was to go back to the land that Adam was made from. Though she was created from Adam's rib, she herself knew not or seen not this place Adam was sent to by God. However Adam had seen the land before the garden. God's purpose and God's plan and God desire to bring peace and sometime war. For God himself caused the division between man when he confounded the languages.
God in his wisdom sent a peace offering to man. The people of God had been sending peace offering everytime they sinned, and every time God would forgive. God sent Christ as the Prince of Peace. Yet even at time of Christ he would be hidden because of Herod's attack on all baby boys born after the time of Christ's birth. Jesus would have been killed, had he not been taken to Egypt. Jesus would return to the Promise Land of Israel to live in Nazareth after Herod died. Jesus would be the sacrificial lamb and the peace offering to man. Two laws were existing in Jerusalem, both Roman law and the law of God. God sent his Son to end the war on these laws. Yet the spiritual laws of faith would never end.
Most laws are designed by God to keep peace, those of different ideas do not see the laws of Moses as keeping peace. When the veil was torn at the time of Christ it stopped one the separation between God and man, and it did one more thing it was to bring peace between all nations. If we look at the Priest Caiaphas and realize the prophecy was that one man would die for the nation, and that this prophecy was about giving up their religious right to follow the ways of man, we can understand why God allowed Israel to one day be destroyed. The question comes do we want to be so much like the Jones that it takes our faith. Do we pray publicly or is it better to be like the joneses that do not? Do we hide our faith to gain popularity in other areas of our life? Do we build a wall between God and us to keep him above and us on the ground. Only calling on him in time of struggle? The laws of sacrifice were a burden to the culture of the gentiles who understood them not, but it did not stop anyone of faith from saying I am turning away from sin or action that does not please God. It did not stop anyone from saying I forgive as Christ forgave me on the cross for my sin. It did not stop anyone from praying, seeking God and his ways. It did not stop anyone from having a relationship with God like, Abraham, Samuel, David, Paul, the Apostles and so forth had with God. The codes of man that God abolished had nothing to do with faith in him, only stopped legalism of that day in the religious realm. It stop religious law from ruling or being the only influence in public law.
We become the peacemakers when in public school we sacrifice our faith only long enough to allow the enemy social law that acceptable by all people even religious ones. Yet when we remove ourselves from public life we remove religious faith out of public eye for them to only go hog wild in the wrong direction where the laws of the land began to reflect that generation not exposed to Christians to rule in a way of lawlessness and destruction. Even those that are jewish outside the public eye have the same issues of being in world foreign to their way of life.
Hope my area will forgive me, but they even know it true, it like going out of the mountains and looking around a city to see what new in society compared to their own. What the latest technology, and gadgets out there, to buy to bring home to those in the hills. To be the first to have on their block this new thing. By the time it reaches our area, most have seen it that will probably buy it. It is the new toys at christmas for children who never seen such a toy, the excitement the thrill of the new stuff, that it brings a gleam to the eye.
As Islam enter our school as well as other religious groups to influence the generation coming up more then Christianity. We want to know why there is persecution in our land toward believers, it because of their solitude and segregation perhaps and not their call to make peace with others different then ourselves. If we are hated we hated by a long term feud of other religions, as well as society laws.
If Christians are going to be peacemakers we have to step out of the box so to speak and accept cultures and things that do not effect our faith. Does not go against our faith. When the law of sacrifice was done away with, sacrifices still occurred even today by Jewish and Islamic culture. Let us not forget pagan culture sacrificing of animals and humans in regards to religious ceremony. Faith in God is more then sacrifice and burnt offerings of peace. It is about faith in God and Christ Jesus who took away the sins of the world. Yet without the cross of Jesus, we are unable to make peace with God, because God allowed his Son to be crucified. God made a way of peace not man. Faith is not to take a stand in the world in regard to powers. Did Christ come off that cross, or causing more following while going to the slaughter? No, but he went like a sheep to slaughter, he went to the cross with only a few words to leaders, and only a few words while on the cross in pain. All done in form of peace with his disciples and then with man with his words "forgive them Father, for they know what they do". Yet on the third day he came up out of the grave to begin the biggest renewel of faith the world would ever know and still knows today, despite what the devil would like you to think.
God knew with sending his Son this wall between gentiles and believers would always exist, but the wall could be bridged by legal laws of land to disagree with each other or the bridge of the cross. Revival Spirit of Christ still influencing the world today, as long as we do not allow our voices to be silent or melon collie. To allow the world to think we are sad by persecution, by obstacles and struggles. Our hope should rest in God and Christ Jesus to be overcomers, defeating the devil, with every catch of those fiery darts, because he can not harm us. Not to be depressed when we ourselves fail, but stand up tall and keep moving forward.
When Israel went into exile, they were told to put on their coats, and hats and carry their bags not in sadness, but with thanksgiving in their heart. Most of us can not even do that so easily. Our humanity shows through and through. Yet the fact we get up and move forward day by day mean we striving forward to live for Jesus, the best we know how. If our humanity shows on a bad day, so be it, because I am not Jesus, I can only hold on to the hope of faith just like others holding on to faith. Jesus must be in the forefront of our hope, we must look and strive toward peace, and tranquility with man on the earth. The peace makers are those that strive for peace. Are you striving for peace, or only segregating yourself more and more.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to strive for peace, to teach the ways of peace. That our faith is a part of us, not something to be a shamed of and hidden under a bush. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
