Genesis 5:28-31 KJV
28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.

If you read enough scripture you will find yourself asking about this comfort that comes from God. Is it the consolation prize after destruction, hardship, or woe. Who best to know about consolation prizes but perhaps Noah. Noah being the comfort to his parents because of the toil/work of their hands, because the ground was cursed by God. Had it not rained at the time of Noah birth and the family had not had a good growing season perhaps,scripture is not clear, but his entry into the world was one of comfort to his mother and father. The blessings of children can often be that children able to help with the work of the family, specially in farm, hunting or business trade. Now Lamech would have other sons and daughters. However Noah meaning to comfort or console, or maybe more fitting the consolation prize for the harsh gardening season they were having. More time to spend procreating then picking and gather vegetables perhaps and so a baby came from this time off from work. Do you not wonder how many babies were conceived during the pandemic, did we have a baby boom? No one even said anything about counting new life yet. To speak the number of new lifes born in each country and around the world despite all the deaths.

Jesus said, "blessed are that mourn For they shall be comforted. Isaac found comfort after his mother past away, because he took a wife. Comfort coming often from other source, but forgetting it is a precious gift from God the comfort from another human, and even his Spirit. For God may of cursed the ground but he comfort his people. God is the God of all mercy and the God of all comfort. God no doubt after the flood comfort Noah with the prophecy of blessings to him and his family and the promise of no rain that would never flood the whole earth again. The knowledge that God would not do certain things had to be comfort to Noah, but it also is a comfort to the believers. It does not mean storms will not come, but it is the consolation prize after the storm, of new life, new hope, and perhaps a consolation that others have gone through storms as well. Noah life started out in time of hardship. What a blessings to know God is also merciful in the storms of life, giving hope and new life in which to help in life's journey. Mourning does turn to joy overtime.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your comfort in the storms of life with bring new life, new hope and promises of your love to each and everyone us that believe and trust in you, despite the judgments that come to the world that we to must walk through. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
