Thinking this morning about the righteousness of Zacharias and Elizabeth and Abraham and Sarah. They had one offspring that would in increase. Abraham had two offspring that would increase into two sets of twelve tribes. Zacheus and Elizabeth had only one son, but the righteousness of faith would be to all that would follow the teachings of faith that they taught. To explain this further no one really knows if John the Baptist ever married or if he had any offspring. In ancient world the wealth of man was not his pocketbook always but the number of his children. History of offspring would not be counted until later and after Abraham death in the offspring of his grandchildren. Were these people righteous by this passage of scripture the answer is no. Is the Psalmist wrong. Not exactly. God does bless people with offspring and not always the bloodline kind. John the Baptist had followers of John faith that he taught. Yet John was not God nor did his disciple believe John was a god. Jesus had no children but his children knew Him to be the Messiah and the Christ. They would understand that Jesus was God by being the word of God. Christ offspring were many and continue even today in the spiritual sense. The linage of Jesus being what he offered the world.
Thomas Edison gave the light bulb but history declares electricity was known about in the ancient long before Edison with the Baghdad Battery. What then is Edison the founding father of knowledge already known, or the founding father of how to use the technology with current tools around him. Is the knowledge of glass a phenomenon, or basic science. Will to see blown glass in the ancient American civilization gives one the idea of the process of making glass to be a learned trade, until one learns that glass is made in the sand during a lightening storm, but a electrical lightening to a stick or rod in the ground. Ancient culture with glass beads no longer a mystery. God creating glass before man ever did. The mystery of darkness to light by a switch no longer a mystery, we just do not have access to the switch God uses to turn on and off the light of the earth. Yet our access to the switch is knowledge of God’s word and knowing the value of it by faith and trusting in God. Faith being our most valuable access. What then can we understand, that God made things first, or that our faith is in the value of what man creates.
A righteous man is quick to think but slow to speak. He guides is affairs with discretion and he lendeth. Most people will say do not lend something out if you know you won’t get it back and you will want it back. God’s way of lending is not worrying if it will be returned or not. Modern world does not live that way.
A righteous man waits on the day his enemies will be destroyed. And be humbled by the poor, that he helps. Yet he longs for the day his enemy gnashes his teeth because of his victory. Making the wealth of offspring because of the enemy being defeated. God destroys Satan for the final time and locks him away for eternity the offspring of faith will flourish not by new children, but by the elation and joy of His spiritual children for eternity. As disciples of Christ we are God’s heritage. We are the offspring of faith and if we carry the message of faith on, we are then parents of faith in others or guardians of faith. Being a guardian of faith is so important. To carry God’s instruction to each generation so the wickedness of our world does not strive. The righteousness of faith in God and his power does.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for teaching us to believe by your power and might and that our righteousness comes from faith and heritage of faith that continues as we pass it on. Help us to be share our faith and to pass it on. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Countdown To Thanksgiving 5 Days left: Thank God for the offspring of faith to continue the message of faith on.
