The most unwise council is found when people hate another or are jealous of another. There way of dealing with their jealousy is to use their power to destroy another. Despite the jealousy of unwise council of the king to make a law that would cause Daniel to be thrown into the lions pit, Daniel did not change is heart desire to worship and serve God daily by praying at his window. Daniel a man of faith guarded not his own life when it came to obeying God or honoring God has he purposed in his heart to do. Daniel is brought before the king and the king said your God will save you. Did the King really believe Daniel God would save him probably not, but he cast Daniel into the lions den anyway. He had no choice but to obey the law he had established unwisely, for he felt his law was superior by declaring it could not be changed.

As we approach Thanksgiving I begin to think of this story of the trial of Daniel and how as he approached the hole of the lions den, his faith still intact knowing whether he came out of the den or not he had obeyed the one that could destroy his soul and not the one who could only have him killed. That night in that den of lions, so dark and unable to see, but hear those lions breathing all around him. No doubt he wonder about if those lions would grow hungry at the smell of him, or had he seen the angels that shut the mouths of those lions shining bright around him. What it be, Daniel knew the protection of his God.

With the call of the king at the mouth of the hole where he thrown David he hollered down not sure if Daniel would be alive. Upon Daniels answer the king rejoiced in the God of Daniel and had him come forth from the lions den. The king then took the enemy and cast them into the den never to be heard from again, for the god of these men had no power to save their life from the lions or their soul from hell.

When faced with obedience to God the outcome is not always like Daniel. Yet when God desires to show His power against the enemies of faith in him, he moves in such away that even the enemy will be destroyed. Daniel no doubt found a reason to praise God in the mist of the storm. Did he sleep that night, we do not know, but we know the lions mouths were shut. He knew the power of His God in the mist of the lions den. He held his peace as dawn approach and Daniel cried out my God has saved me king and no hurt apon me. The king desired to worship a God that would save him from the lions den and his people. He declare the people of his nation worship the God of Daniel.

I know the power of Jesus name, in my own life and yet I think of these stories before Christ and know the power of my God reigns. The power of my God reigns in all the earth. The stories sound like fiction until you experience the power of God. We are not tempt the power of God as the king in this story did. Yet the power of God was challenged more then once in the book of Daniel. Yet, God power was proven to the enemy of God. Do you have the faith that it takes to believe in God that He will save you from your sins and not send you into the darkness of hell for eternity because of your faith in His Son Jesus? Do you believe in the saving power of God through faith?

Dear Heavenly Father your power is known to the enemy may it be shown and demonstrated to the enemy in the life of your children today. Strengthen your children on Lord. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
