Build On Wisdom 05/24/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisProverbs 24:1-34 KJV
1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Abortion in ancient culture was not unusual in the since of after a baby was born. The deformities were such or inability to correct an issue such, the baby would be left to die or be sacrificed. I was looking at a video where a woman that had such severe deformity was carried around in a basket/bowl. She was not very big, her torso was very small and her head the size of a normal head. Her family loved and cared for her in a primitive culture compared to america or most of Europe, Japan and so forth. The family cared for this now adult, who was unable to care for herself and lived in the same bowl for years and years probably. This woman would not of survived if it was not for her loving family, what would happen after the elders of her family die, I do not know. However the thought came to mind that in some culture this woman would not seen the age of one much less one month of life because of her disformity. In a since she was like a watcher of the family. As far as I know, no mental issues or slowness in learning. It left me with the thought what would happen to her as time goes by.
The truth of the point I making Solomon had wives that killed infants not because of deformities but because of religious practices of sacrifice. Today abortion runs strong in the culture of our land, even with pro rights movement of our churches and groups that are against abortion. The only thing pro rights can do is come beside those that are not able to keep a child because of finances and help change their situation if they can. Solomon was consider a wise king because God had blessed him with knowledge and understanding, despite his own foolishness. Solomon had knowledge he did not know how to obey.
Would Solomon be consider evil or just sinful? Solomon instruction said not to have anything to do with evil men. Not to be envious of evil men and the things they have, just to stay away from them. Yet Solomon own evilness in allowing his wives to murder his children were only half his problem. He was in situation where he had not obeyed God concerning the woman he took as wives from other lands. They were not followers of God. Idolatry now in full vogue in the land because of his wives. Solomon wrestling with his women, the Temple, and the wisdom of God that he wrote down. Yet two of his Sons would cause his kingdom to be split because of his sin.
Now think for a moment Proverbs 24 verse 3 a house is built with wisdom. The question is King Solomon building a solid foundation for his kingdom. He started with wisdom and began to choose other things he seen with his eyes and his own desires. His kingdom had stones that would crumble in time. The foundation was strong but what he tried to build with was destructible. Understanding wisdom the house is established. Can we understand the ways of God and not build on the principals of God our home, country, government, and so forth? When the principals of God our forsaken the first course of foolish has been established. Foolishness does not stand the test of time. Only God's word of wisdom.
Solomon was rich man, but he had one problem his sin. His kingdom established because of his father David. Yet he built many things and established many things. Yet what did these things profit him when it came to his death. He could not take his kingdoms glory with him into eternity. Think about that for a moment. We can enjoy the wealth of this world but when we die we can not take it with us. How we gain that wealth will be known by God and things you take before God are the things concerning your own soul. God will reward every man according to his soul and not to those things that can be destroyed by fire.
13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Does no good to cheer when another falls, even when they are seeped in evil. The righteous may fall seven times and the non righteous goes about mischief and folly. Yet what has the righteous gained but their eternity with God, because of their repentance because of their ability to have faith in the middle of the storm, their perserverence in life to follow God while others follow their wealth and their desires. We should not laugh at the downfall of wealth men, for even the believer falls before the Lord, yet not that fall from the top of the world gain salvation, some die in their sin.
We of faith can not be slothful, so earning and gaining is not evil if following the leading of the Lord. The point being we to must labor for the things of this world, not because it has value, but because there things of this world that are for our physical health and well being. Though God can provide he does not want us to be idle and depended on the wealthy of the world.
Dear Heavenly Father you see all things and you know things. Your wisdom very vast but the best wisdom you offer is spiritual faith in you, because you provide for your children the wisdom of truth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
