Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Proverbs 12:1-28 KJV
1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Below I divided each verse of Proverbs 12 so one can see what the righteous and the wise not only inherit but how they love instruction, obtain favor of the Lord. How their root of faith will never be removed from them. Purpose of dividing the verse is to get a wider view of what on the side of faith and what wisdom of evil is truly on the side of wickedness and destruction. Almost every verse but verse 14 and 25 have an opposite. Meaning it tells of the righteous and then the wicked or the wicked and then the righteous. Want a further look at it compare it to the original passage at the top of the devotion. Ponder these things this morning, most is easy to understand and those things that are not need more meditation, and prayer and then maybe in time understanding will come.

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD:
3 but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband:
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right:
6 but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom:
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast:
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread:
12 but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13 but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth:
and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 but a prudent man covereth shame.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness:
18 but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever:
20 but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just:
22 but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge:
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule:
25 but a good word maketh it glad.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour:
27 but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 In the way of righteousness is life;
and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

1 but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness:
4 but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood:
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not:
8 but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10 but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men:
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips:
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes:
16 A fool's wrath is presently known:
17 but a false witness deceit.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword:
19 but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
21 but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD:
23 but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
26 but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting:
One choose there own pathway and some of us seem to dapple on one side of the other throughout our life time, and sometimes at no fault of our own. It the learning curve of life that causes us to decide to be on the side of the wicked or the righteous. When we choose evil then our ways are wrong and when we choose the path of righteousness, we choosing to believe God despite our short comings and our failures. We repent when corrected or when knowledge reveals our imperfections. To receive Christ as Lord is to receive the gift of eternal life, but to receive not the word of instruction of God and Christ is to reap condemnation that is only for the wicked. Choose your side to follow God is ways or the devil in his deceit. That my friend is the choices we follow when it comes to wisdom and knowledge. The choice to follow after the wisdom of God unto good works of faith is profitable to all of us. To choose wickedness only profits evil doers for the time God allows them to exist, for they are made for destruction.

Dear Heavenly Father, you show us the ways of wickedness so as people faith we can avoided it, but also have the knowledge that if we fail, that you will forgive us of our transgressions. That you will redeem because of your love for us that you demonstrated by sending your Son to die on the cross for our sins. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Titus 3:3-8 KJV
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
