The Instructions 05/06/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisProverbs 6:1-35 KJV
1 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
Becareful what you say because your own words may be your trap, but it maybe out of ignorance of what you say. Don't fall asleep while watching, for even the deer on high alert sometimes is able to escape the hunter and Tweety always seem to not get caught by Sylvester. Yet in truth be smart not dumb in your ways. Meaning do alot of praying and listening to the Holy Spirit especially when dealing with difficult issues. 6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
How many people remember the Disney Movie about the ant. How the ant stored all his food for winter and worked all spring, summer and fall for preparation of winter months. Well people have to learn to be like the ant, to learn how to store, and prepared for winter. To busy about their own work and take care o their needs. Now sometimes you can't take care of your own needs and that a different story. But if you can you find work you can do and not be lazy.12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Simply have nothing to do with evil does,lying tongue and hand that shed innocent blood. Feet that ready to run away from or into devilish acts.20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
Follow the godly advise of God the Father and the church it should guard your footsteps all your life and you will remember them when you sleep and when you wake up. It important for parents to give good instruction. It wise to advise your child well. Remember children have to be taught, and if you teach them they will remember your words of how to walk in this world we live in as good role models, even if they rebel for a time. Okay that rebellion is my own words but it also part of growing up.It equally important to remember the responsibility of the church to teach correctly and be mother to their people as God the Father is the Father of his people. Though I taking a little liberty as using the example of not only godly parents, but using it in comparison tot he authority of God in a believers life and the authority of church world in a believers life. Church should never be controlling, but there instruction needs to be sound.
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
"23 For the commandment is a lamp and law is light and reproofs of instruction are the way of life". The truth of the moment is is the commandments a lamp to your feet. Is Jesus your salvation. Jesus is the word God that became flesh. John 1:1-15. Is not commandments the truth to live by. Is not Jesus the spirit of Prophesy(Revelations 19) The devil will make his ways look inviting and even the whore will make one think she is appealing, until the truth of their devilish plot to control your lust of your flesh and desire of your heart to the point you have no more money, or storage from your labor. The thief of the one that will steal your soul will also steal your mind. However the one that steals food for his soul will also be the one that will repay. Why is that. Zaccheus(Luke 19) is a good example of the one looking for spiritual food, when Jesus was passing by and he was willing to pay all he stole from back and then some.
There is apoint if we only look at key verses and not the warning we find that we gain one principal to live by obey God and the only one we need. Yet even also point blanket things to avoid in our life. Do we need to touch evil to know it is hot and it burns the soul. The question remains do you know what sin is without hearing about things to avoid? The response is still probably not. That why good instruction should contain the things that are evil or potential evil if one follows it. To know that the oven is hot should be enough for obedient child not to touch it, but the curiousity often to see how hot gets a child burned. This my friend is why adults as well as children need to know what sin is, and hopefully it enough to keep one from being burned, but if not Jesus is our salvation. When we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins. No one is perfect. We all get burnt in our life.
Dear Heavenly Father, remind us daily how good it is to follow good instruction, to be busy about our work and not worry about other's people work. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Romans 10:9-11 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
2 Timothy 3:12-17 KJV
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
