Unbelief Within The Journey

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 11:16-36 KJV
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The time of doubt and unbelief is the time in a person life when they may be going through a crisis, event or even something that feels far greater then they can handle themselves. The first response should be to pray, but unless you so disciplined to the point God says jump and you only ask how far and not how high it is probably not. That is where Christians come to that place of unbelief, unfaith, and even weakness that has to come to restoration at some point. Can you be restored? If you falter and fall, can you be restored. The answer is God has mercy, grace and wisdom and he knows how far you can fall before the parachute catches you and allows you to land in a safe location and not in the pit of hell.

The crash of unbelief only last for maybe a few seconds hopefully but it maybe years before you regain that hope once more because of something you go through. Yet, God does not desire you to be on the outs when it comes to faith. He wants to restore you in faith and hope, but what will it take to be restored. Well a branch from a tree of similiar kind can be grafted into a healthy tree, if the branch is healthy enough to take a hold of the healthy tree that it grafted into. Here the point did the branch that was cut off ever think it could be grafted into the tree and live, probably never even occured it could even be grafted in, only seen itself laying on the ground with no hope. The garden see the green leaves and a nub of a sprout that says fruit on it, and gently trims the branch and ties it to the tree and it begins to take root into the tree, he been pruned from. Why is this process even possible, it is the grace of God.

What must happen the word must flow like water giving life to the grafted branch. Bringing nutrients to the branch from the tree. The branch holds on for life support and gain all the nutrient from the right source the tree of life. The tree being God and His Son flowing through the tree bring life to all the other branches that been grafted in. We need God's word for healing of unbelief. We need proof of the reality of His word for help with unbelief.

Why was the branch cut off, was it sin, no it was unbelief. God speaks to our heart and says this and we say I can receive this today. It like the children of Israel in the wilderness who heard God and did not want to deal directly with God at first they did not have faith to believe God cared for them. We think we have skeptic in our day study the story of the trip back to the promise land. No man or woman could do the miracles that God did using the hand of Moses, yet Israel could not receive it from God only the benefit of the gift. They would come to place of faith when the serpents started biting them and they began to die. They began to finally begin to cry to God on their own by first asking Moses to pray. They finally got enough of proof or evidence of God to start grabbing hold.

It is our unbelief that causes our own struggles in faith, yet do not loose hope because of doubt hold on, God will reveal his plan for your life in due season, he teach you about faith in due season. He will enable you to believe more then a mountain seed of faith that he can forgive you for doubts and unbelief. God's grace is sufficient for our failings, for he sees the fruit and leaves of faith in our branch and see the good things to graft us in once more. You might even say where is my fruit and where is my leaves for once being grafted in again you might loose some of these people that you help show faith to, but remember there God's fruit and leaves and not yours, That fruit must be drafted into the tree of life, to grow, it can not produce from your branch, your only a suroggate mother until faith arises to the point they no longer need you to be that nurse maid but only a friend. That relationship from God is precious to the believer because of one's need for God to give faith, grace and hope alone to our hearts.

Dear Heavenly Father grant us the knowledge that doubt and unbelief is normal part of growing in faith. It takes our doubts to see our faith come alive in our hearts so we can cleave to the one that answers our heart. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: John 15:1-16 KJV
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
