Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 6:8-9 KJV
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Proverbs 3:1-4 KJV
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

God talks to man, but does man listen? I just finished Samson this week and the way Samson lived as as the heathens of the land in which he lived in. He lived in away of many rulers in the history of Israel. Yet He is said to have the Spirit of the Lord upon him because he was a nazarite from birth. Meaning he was born for a purpose, but not a purpose of peace because his head was not to be shaved not even upon death. He would lose his hair to prostitute and pagan. When we examine the law of Nazarite the hair was to be cut and sacrificed to God when time of his duties were finished but his life would be one of a Nazarite. His death only because of his attitude of being made fun of. Yet he was called by God to be judge for twenty years. That was his call, not the rest of his life. He chose not the ways of God and lost his eyes, his hair, and ego.

God calls us to be perfect. Noah alone found grace in the eyes of the Lord and Know was consider a just man and perfect in his generation and time. God seen Noah not in the light of perfection, but his generation, the men of Noah village seen him as perfect, because he walked with God. In order to walk with God one has to be willing to travel the same way as God. To travel with the guidelines of his rules and laws of mercy and grace. Yet it not just the commandments, for Noah and Abraham had not commandments and found grace in God's eyes. To follow God in obedience is to obey him not without asking questions, because that is human instinct, but to obey with instruction. Samson Mother and Father asked for instruction on how to raise Samson and they obeyed. Noah needed instruction to build the ark and listened and obeyed God's instruction. For this reason he was a man that walked with God.

A Levite called by God not just by birth, but because of his desire to serve God is called to be separate from pagan idols even down to the name of an idol. Now the chapter in continual scripture reference has to do with religious leaders calling. Noah was called a preacher of righteousness, and Samson was called a judge and lead by God because of his calling. What we can not imagine is the call of man by God can very from devil to religion. There also devils in relgious world or serpents, as well as leaders of faith in political world. However can you tell who who, sometimes one might just wonder who is who. There some circles I could not be in as a person of faith, yet it would not be the same as walking down the street and help person of that group for whatever reason it maybe. There is difference in giving aid to someone in need, direction, advice or prayer. It something totally different to allow pagan world to corrupt a religious service for God, or to allow the devil on inch in the pulpit. Is the called to walk with God different for religious and politicians. No but then we have to ask, if sin is sin, what justifies a man or woman it is God, through Christ Jesus. He gives his word you justified by faith In Christ then you are justified by faith in Christ Jesus. If we went by the old law many of us in today's society would never measure up to the law that was suppose to enable us to find God's grace. If the law was binding at the time of Moses and Aaron, and so forth how could Kings and princes be justified by their immorality. They obeyed God with their faith and not their bodies.

Religious leaders were called to not even mudder the name of a pagan god or goddess, to have nothing to do with witchcraft and so forth. Yet Aaron even made an idol for baal because of the people, before the law was written. If we hold to the law we fail to find God's grace. Naaman requested of Elijah if he could still take his boss in to worship a pagan god and kneel with his boss without disobeying the God that healed him. He was not going to worship the pagan God, but to enable his boss that did for he was a servant. There are people in the devils world that never will be a part of it. I was reading online the other day someone saying if they require the chip in the hand or arm, they would not do it. And no doubt many do not want a chip in their hand or arm, but it is okay for their pets. Okay what is point, is techonology your religion, or is faith in God your religion?

There is all kinds of things men and women do in our world for survival, biggest failure is seeking God for that survival. God promise long life if we obey. Samson request water from God and water poured out of the jaw bone of ass, he had used to kill people with. Point being even those not living for God or in the ways of God make request to him and He provides because of his divine will in the world. The point being God cares enough about his divine will despite our obedience then to live by the code of following his instruction must began with faith in His Son Jesus/Word of God, Jesus being the word of God that became flesh and came to be sacrifice for the sins of the world. Everyday man sins we sacrifice the word of God that gives instruction, hope and promise of long life.

Can we obey God first in faith in his word, and His word in the flesh named Jesus. Cand we believe in Spirit of Prophesy. His our ego going to destroy us, or are we willing to follow after God? The question is for all of us to decide not just me, not just you, not just the person down the street, everyone must make the choice to follow God and his word and His Son in obedience of faith, and instruction.

Dear Heavenly Father, you promised a long to those that believe because of eternal life, but you give us hope while on this earth to live faithfully in perfection of your instruction of faith and hope. Help us to believer in your word and instruction, to do your will according to your instruction. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Deuteronomy 18:9-22 KJV
9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
