What To Speak
5/12/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Exodus 4:10-17 KJV
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

If you want to be a witness for Jesus, the first thing is to ask God to help you. You can memorize all the right verse and forget every line if you fail to follow the Spirit of God when sharing the Gospel of Jesus and second you know not necessarily what someone needs to hear, but God sees the soul of man. So go praying, but not fear of what you will speak.

Now to the meat of the message, Moses found himself before the Lord and the Lord telling Moses that He would put the words in his mouth. If I could be allowed to back talk God the way Moses did it would be more like Lord, I not sure of the reality of your presence, or if this is a dream I can undo when I wake. See the approach of God's presence in Moses life had to really startle him. There is no clue if Moses had faith before God approached him, or had the awareness of God, The truth he might of been taught by his mother, but no clue for how many years it was allowed, or if it continued when he was weaned or as a teenager. In the story preceding the passage in Exodus 4:10-17 you will can read Moses approaching a burning bush and God telling him to take off his sandals for he is on holy ground. Now He hears this voice to continue to speak to him and even demonstrating through signs and wonders of taking his staff and turning it into a snake and his hand being pulled from his garment with signs of leprosy, only to be free when put back into his coat and his hand came back clean. Moses call being full reality that came quickly with a fear to obey God came over Moses as God talked to him. God got angry and said I will send your brother Aaron with you. Scripture never says how God approached Aaron, but we know Aaron would meet him coming into Egypt.

Our own backtalk does not delay God's will for our life, to accomplish his will for someone elses. If God is sending you on a journey better say okay God which way and not worry even about what you will speak or worry about the help God will send you. Whether it is before the government, or before the judges, or the people you are sent too. God has a will for your life and God wants to send you on a journey with him to share the Gospel. First lesson is submission to build the church of God to build his sanctuary as He has designed. You can not build without his leading for He is the wise master builder. You can not talk for God without his words to speak to man. As I watch my home state governor speak almost every day, I also taken back by the lady that does all his signing for the deaf. She has to be very attentive to the words of the governor to be able to move and speak with her hands, to communicate to the deaf world. She also uses her mouth and no doubt it helps communicate words not so easily signed. Yet when watching, her job is totally to sign all spoken by the governor, and nothing else, not even howdy do. If you watch she is only maybe a word delay in signing to his words. That takes time and practice. Well with God it not about practice, or ability, it is about God speaking and you speaking his words back to the listeners. That the job Moses had to communicate the exact words God would put in his mouth.

God disrupted Moses life, but we do not know the course of his spiritual life prior to this event. God was wanting to do something in Moses' life as well as the tribe of Israel. God did not give Moses a fighting chance to really refuse but refute him with help he would provide through his brother Aaron. Moses went. Sign of Aaron coming to meet him, must of been an awesome site to behold, for it did not stop Moses from telling Aaron all God had spoken to him.

Do not be startled at what God will speak to you or words God will put in your mouth. If God message is so urgent and he sending you, God will provide what you need. Disciples knew it from day one when they followed Jesus, Disciples knew it when they went in the high ways and by ways to compel people to see Jesus. Yet the disciples were still concerned of what to say, for Jesus spoke about going to trial and before judges even during persecution, not to be in fear. Moses would go not in fear to the Pharaoh but with signs and wonders that would follow him to demostrate the authority God had given him to convince the Pharaoh.

This is what it takes to walk in the footsteps of Christ and the prophets and the teachers. Anyone can teach a Bible story to a child, but not everyone is prepared to answer the child. How many know children that ask fifty questions or more a day. In truth parents in general can not answer all of them. Will God knows the answer to speak, if we will rely on him to help answer the children about him, tell they receive him as Lord. Then God becomes the teacher for the child of faith. A child of faith, there is no limit to becoming a child of God. God teaches and not the world.

Dear Heavenly Father as a believer in Christ I know your word is true, that you know how to fill our mouth with his word, if we will follow Him. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 12:11-12 KJV
11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Luke 21:14-15 KJV
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
