Communication With God
5/18/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 2:8-25 KJV
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. note
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. note
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. note
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: note
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. note
18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. note
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. note
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. note
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. note
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. note note
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Relationship with God and man began when God created man. Communication with his creation of man continued even into days world. God created man and gave him a home in Eden. He placed him in a garden. In this garden were all kinds of trees with food on it. Only one tree was man not to eat from. Now as you know trees grow both nuts and fruits. Yet only one tree was forbidden. During this whole time, God went about providing for Adam. People buy pets, take them home, place them in a pen, a cage, the living room floor, and any type of structure that will give the animal protection from the elements in a storm. Man also gives their pet food to eat and drink. There was river, it does not say Adam drank from this river but I suspect he did. It is almost as if Adam was God's pet. After all God is superior to man, as we are to our pets. God however made man, but man can not create an animal. I sure some newspaper will have article soon out that says they twisted the dna and produce some kind of strange creature. I have been watching to much Durassic Park. No, but it occured to me while I was typing in modern terminology how we relate to this relationship with God. Even when God forced Adam and Eve out of the garden he provided for them. They just couldn't have the palace anymore.

There is a point to this little picture I been creating from Genesis 2. God always communicated with man.It like a type of dialogue. Today in modern times we think of communication in the since of prayer and asking God for intercession for someone or for ourselves. Yet the relationship of man was not so in the beginning. God seen the need and simply provided. God, had Adam go through the animal kingdom to see not only what he would call each creature, but also provide a help mate for him. No creature was compatible. The Bride of Christ is the church. It takes the whole body to be the bride to Christ. Yet to think people are not even equal, and yet believers are given a new body when they die. Given a body that is eternal undestructible. People are more then a pet to God but the analogy fits for Adam was not immortal in the garden. The believer will put on immortality with death. making us a help mate to Christ. Christ still being over the church. There is something more to grasp here, is the communication God has with the believer and with his creation. God knows the needs before we ask. God walks and talks with man in the garden of Eden. God communicates with his creation called man. God communicates by just coming and talking to man. Man in his formality bows his head to talk to God in prayer and supplication for the needs of who he or she is praying for. Communication with God can be like walking in the garden. Yet one needs Jesus to do so. It is by the Holy Spirit when Christ Spirit enters our hearts that communication with God the Father begins. Our intercessor intercedes to God the Father for us. He speaks to the soul of man. The word of God both the Bible and oral speaking of God to our Spirit is something a believer knows far to well. Yet we speak to God in our imperfection as man, because of Christ salvation through the cross. Before Christ, man spoke to God and God to man after sin of Adam and Eve, but always behind a veil. The veil is gone between believer and God, because of Christ sacrifice. Christ blood is now our veil between God and ourselves. It is a covering for our sin. When the believer spritually speaking reach out to the throne of God with petition of needs, wants and desires for both themselves and others, the Holy Spirit intercedes. God desires to hear from us and to speak to us, but we got to want to know God as much as He already desires to know us and already working in our life for that relationship to be restored through belief in him.

God's provision is not always as we desire, but it is what we need to teach us to trust and obey Him. God desires to talk to you by His Spirit, through His word, by his still small voice and even sometimes voice of a trumpet. God desires for you to listen and hear him. Are you willing to hear him today and follow His desire for you to believe. Think on it. if God cared so much for his creation that he placed only one tree in the garden to teach first obediene to Him. How much more will he teach his earthly children today. How much will he provide for his children today. Trust in Him today, believe in God's eternal salvation plan through Christ Jesus. Pray with intercession and supplication for others and yourself. By praying and communicating with God, one will develop the right relationship with God through faith, obedience and trusting. Listening and obeying God destroys the lies of the devil.

Dear Heavenly Father help your children to pray and listen to what you have to say. Continue to speak to children today to enable us to fight the enemy. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
