Tree Of Knowledge

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Genesis 2:16-17 KJV
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:1-5 KJV
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Godly knowledge is treasurable, in fact it is desirable. The knowledge world is ever changing has no value beyond a good job and survival. The knowledge of our world will not last. There a point I am making a distinction of knowledge. We gain knowledge in our world from many source all these sources will pass away. Historians try and pick apart truth from knowledge past, in hopes of finding truth. What maybe true today maybe false tomorrow because it based on who is in control. Computer industry has changed truth to a reality of realism. Yet computer technology has also produced the ability to lie, so what is knowledge of truth is no longer truth. Yet we live in a world of paradoxes. Yet the world in is because of Eve's desire to taste the knowledge of the serpent.

What is the knowledge of the serpent but the direct opposition of God's knowledge. God does desire to give us knowledge but not the knowledge of good and evil that produces death. Knowledge in opposition to God's knowledge is sin. However there is godly knowledge of all kinds of industry, and work for his glory. If the knowledge that God only desires good things for his people is clear, God not an evil dictator, but put the devil in the dictator spot and what we gain is evil. The serpent cared nothing about whether Eve died. In fact the serpent tempted her with it will not happen what God said, calling God a liar. Truth Eve would of lived in paradise for eternity if she only chosen to obey God.

Reality of whose knowledge do you obey, God's or man? Eve praised God saying she got a man from the Lord after giving birth. Had Eve come to knowledge of God's way being best. at this point. Perhaps has pain racked her body giving birth, she knew in heart and mind God punishment was true, and death itself would come and the pain of this world would be gone. The pain of sin would cause her death just has child birth had brought forth pain.

God does not desire his people to be ignorant, he desires them to be filled with his knowledge of truth. God's truth can only be seen by the conquences of obedience and sin. If God says you are protected, then you are, and if God says you are doomed for eternity because of sin, then you are. Yet God had plan to deliver man from sin. Cain and Abel made a sacrifice. Had their Mother Eve taught them about sacrifice, only God knows. But we do know that God found Abel sacrifice pleasing and Cain's not. Point being in our own life to obey God is hard at times, because of our own desires and wants. Yet when he gives warning, we need to listen. When we obey God's protection is upon us. Eve protection lost with sin, did she gain protection back? Only God knows, but the sacrifice of Old Testament goes into the sacrifices for sin, and how God would send one redeemer for entire world. Christ would be our redeemer. The knowledge of faith in Christ is about belief, and repentance. Yet knowledge of God does not stop on belief. God desires us to have knowledge to be able to created and make our world a better place. He did not leave us to die, but to continue living out our life span on this earth, so when heaven comes, we are able to gain the knowledge of God for the perfecting of his will in our eternal life.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to grow in your knowledge of word as being truth in all things. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: Colossians 1:9-10/KJV
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
