I talked about Eli Son’s in yesterday devotions briefly. Eli was a priest before and during early years of Samuel time of service. Samuel was put in his care to become a minister. Yet his sons were ministers of the devil. It seems if I was going to trust a child to a minister I make sure he was good with children and if he had children they were good ministers also or honest men of work. Yet you cannot judge a parent by their offspring always. In some cases children were bad not because of parenting. Apparently that was the case with old Eli was a righteous man in his own life, but had no control over his children, either because he did not correct them or they refuse to listen to their father.

Jesus talks about the leaven the Pharisees. Were the Pharisees required to talk false doctrines? Were stories used to draw a crowd that had nothing to do with God? The lies often become fact for the devils that know not God. Yet the stories are retold instead of the Gospel truth. The Gospel hear meaning the scripture of God’s word. How many times I can remember older generation remembering the latest joke told, or story that makes a person want to pass it on. How many remember the stories in God’s word to pass them on. Then I think no one sits around the table discussing only scripture, unless one is so religious the word is eaten 24/7 as supplement in daily life. Not a once a day vitamin but a daily hourly, minute by moment dose of it.

There a point to this, Jesus feeding the five thousand would be retold because of the miracles, but scripture would lack, and yet people would question or ask the doctrines of the Pharisees back. Jesus did miracles and only the Pharisees questioned. Their public discourse sowed discourse of doubt among the people. The miracles of the feeding of the five thousand and the four thousand would have been enough to quiet the doubters. The point is then raised what muffles the devils today.

As devils teach more and more lies of Satan to disrupt the truth of Christ and God, one has to ask can our world stand with the lies spreading faster the wild fires in Canada. A heavy spring rain would quiet the Canadian fires, but it would take a miracle to happen. It is like Colorado fires a few years ago, the ability to control was nearly impossible. The point is God is wanted to teach the people about the lies that destroy and the truth that destroys the lies is the word of God.

Has a believer the devil will seek to disrupt or place doubt in the minds of the people and individual about faith in God. Even as a teacher I wrestle against the hypocrisy and lies of devils especially if one stays online talking to people to long. Yet the only way to defeat is use scripture. One cannot memorize the whole Bible, and retain even full books for long periods of time. Yet one can rely on the Holy Spirit to bring scripture back to defeat the devil. When nothing comes to mind, then maybe it is time to be silent. For the devil has only authority in the world for a short time. Jesus will one day slam that door shut completely so that all that remain will be with God and His Son for eternity.

If you have a knack for memorizing you will not be going back hunting for scripture later you will know that what God’s word says, without doubt, but if God reminds you, you should know without doubt, that was his Word by His Spirit. Learn to trust God’s word and Spirit as a believer. A non-believer will trust God or his word concerning the important things in this world and find himself without God for eternity in lake of fire. Canadian fires might be bad, but they do have a timetable they will be out, unknown to man. Yet the devil fire will burn for eternity and is burning right now, but not for eternity in the mist of God’s people. Be a Christian fire fighter and trust God to enable you to extinguish the fires on this earth. The leaven is bread with out yeast, Yeast being the ingredient called love that takes time to rise in the dough. Yet flat bread can be done in minutes without yeast. Anyone can show love and others can only give the first response that is not always the solution. A first responder on a fire or rescue scene can at the minimum make assessment of what is going to take to solve the current issue and at the most take care of an issue. Yet what the first responder cannot see is that unforeseen wind that causes a fire to pick up, or heart attack of finger cut rescue. Despite the anger of the fire fighter love of the fight is what it takes to win verses the flames of the fire.

Dear Heavenly Father enable your children to fight the flames of the discourse of the lies of the devil, with your word. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
