Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 14:1-25 KJV
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

God is preparing a place for believers. God's desire to communicate with us is great, but we must be first willing to listen and to hear him. Before the molten calf in Exodus 32 we see in Exodus 24 a story of how God came and talked to Moses, Aaron, Nadab,Abihu and seventy elders Of Israel on a pave work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness, this is in continual scripture today. This old testament. God appears how well if we study some references we find in holiness and purity. The purity of God and his holiness in the presents of Moses,Aaron and Nadab, abihu and the elders. This idea of separation between God and man because of orignal sin needs to be abolished in one since. When we trust in God we can see him as he fully is, the God who desire to design a path for us. Jesus coming in the form of baby is a testimony of his desire to be close to us and for us to know him. He came how we might best receive him, after all the appearance to the Jewish people did not help them in their faith. For several chapters after they make the molten calf to worship, because Moses stay with God was way to long.

Our journey to see heaven is to see the place God is prepare in heaven for us. He preparing a New Jerusalem that will come down from heaven. Our bodies are only a shell to our spiritual being. Our spiritual being once in heaven with need a new dwelling place. Now the idea of this place coming down from heaven already built can be seen in this passage in Exodus 24 as God appears before Israel with pave works and the children of Israel did eat and drink.

Can we have freedom without rules, no there is utter chaos. No but there is point God never wanted to be separated from us. And in the passage Jesus speaks of being one with God the Father.

John 14:7-13KJV

How is Jesus one with God. He is the Father, savior, and Lord, but we got to go further and understand one more thing to be able to connect it. He came as a Son to the world and God's word word is the offspring of God to bring about salvation to all that believe and hear and receive it has truth. Jesus came as the very word of God and offspring in physical form to communicate his love and laws. Then when Christ is crucified and resurrected, he sends His Holy Spirit soon after Jesus departs from the earth to be with the Father. The imagery hard to grasp at times but once fully understood of who God is in triune and yet one God, one Lord, one faith, one baptism then God in his majesty and greatness can be declare to the earth. Just because God hide his face for a time did not mean he would stop his communication with man. His word is love and his word is life and hope. His word most of all is Jesus in the flesh.

God will not leave us comfortless to those that believe and without hope. He will reveal himself to each and every believer singlely and in groups. When we listen to his Spirit he will speak the truth of his ways and the hope to all.

Dear Heavenly Father, the reminder of the time Christ was with us he tried hard to declare who he was to us. Help us Father to believe and understand your truth. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:

Exodus 24:9-13 KJV
9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.
