1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.
5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;
8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.
9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.
11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.
13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.
14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made. Are you ever concerned facing the hierachy of government, or even business boss. Do you ever feel the need to fast and pray on these occassions before speaking to some type of dignitary in the business or government world. I know for me I not big on the ritual of fasting. However I do know from experience if God lays on your heart to fast, do so, for if God's Spirit is before you what have you to fear or question what God will do if you obey Him. I never would have beleive what I experienced, but in truth I knew when God got me through it was by his power and not my own. It something you have to realize it not the event that is important as much as the outcome of the event in the since of what does God teach us about obedience, fasting and prayer. I know it is hard to fast when it is not God's will. God was not going to allow Esther's people to perish. It was not the will of God. The people in chapter 4 had begun to fast for Queen Esther for she was about to approach his husband and he had not called for her. The rule was no one not even the queen could approach the king without permission unless he held the royal sceptra out for her and she put her hand upon it. To save her people would have to take an act of God.
She bows low to the floor to her husband and he holds the sceptra out to her. She showed her husband respect, and not only respect but it was done in a form of worship. Her husband told her he would give whatever she asked up to half his kingdom. She with wisdom invited the king and Haman the enemy to a banquet and then she would make her request known to the king. Haman was so honor he boast to his family and those around him. Boasting can cause a great fall and it would in Haman case.
What we can learn from this story when we fast and pray, we can petition God with all our request. We can ask in Jesus name for help and hope we need. Yet there is key it has to be according to His will for our life. So with this point we need to ask what does God want for all people not just the Jews, but all his children. When fast do so with the responsibility of a person not only of faith but with soundness of what is the will of God for his people. In this case God wanted Esther to be successful in her mission to the king. God wants us to be successful in life journey. God wants us not to be fearful when we ask, but show the proper reverence to Him, for his ability to provide and to care for us.
Let us not look to the government for the solution of Corona but let us look to the One that created us. Government is lifted up but the solution and healing is coming from God who desires to cleanse our nation with alcholol, disinfectin, and bleach. God wants to cleanse the nations of our world not with death, but with life giving substance of cleaniness. Yeah I feel like I preaching to myself, i need to mop my floor. Anyway, God gives us tools to take care of ourselves and the mass of people that enter world never think about cleaniness being so important as doctors and germ a phobes. Thank God for these people that hate germs that can campaign millions of people into action. People die from illness, nothing new, but people can live better when certains precaustions are taken. After all cleaniliness is next to godliness is it not. God word even talks about cleaning and being clean. May God cover the earth with cleanilness. Those passing on to be with him because of their time, may it be ever so quickly and not in suffering of this virus.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the reminder how obedience to your word even down to fasting and prayer brings about hope and protection from you based on your will for our lives. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
