Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. I can not go without good conscious this morning not say we all struggle with the flesh and our earthly nature to obey God's will for our life. As long as we live we will fight against the spiritual nature of God's will for our life. What do I mean, we may desire to do good things after salvation, but the earth nature is the side that goes against our heavenly nature. As a believer we are to put on the image of the Savior in our life, never being God but putting on the will of God by His Spirit to do the will of God by obeying the truth of the word of God and not to strive to sin against God. A prostitute is striving to sin, a thief is striving to sin, a killer is striving to sin, and a preacher is striving to live holy or should be. The preacher is tempted by the prostitute, the thief and even the killer to join ranks, because of his desires of the flesh, the desire for wealth and the desire to get rid of a person in the congregation. Yet the preacher is called to be holy, to go against his fleshly nature and obey the Lord in regards to holiness of his marriage, to lay the greed of wealth aside to preach the Gospel without worrying how God will provide, with the thankful heart of daily bread that is provided. Preacher is not suppose to desire to kill someone but to love all people as Christ loved the church, not without correcting or speaking truth to the church. That is a tall order for any man or woman. Now the believers in Christ are called to live like the preacher, to live like Christ. To layside the desires of the flesh and put on the image of Christ in faith. Yet we all strive to live in this world, to be wealthy inorder to be able to provide for our families, and to not kill someone. Yet, God called the believer to trust him for provision, not without working, but that happens too. God can enable believers to be wealthy in regards of hard labor who are generous givers of the church and others. Yet there poor that out give even some wealthy people with their sacrifice, and compassion to give to aid another in need. Money might buy many things, but it does not buy the touch or hug from someone, or the gentle need of nursing care, or the helping of another with the things provided from another source including a wealthy person. Yet all the works one does not cover up the sin nature of a believer or unbeliever.
The sin nature is corrupted part of the human soul that wars against the obedience and disciple of the godly nature of God's Spirit. Why should we war, if our desire is living for God and his will through the aid of the Holy Spirit. It is our sin nature our human flesh that struggles against God to be as God desires us to be, to lay aside all forms of sin to serve the living God. Our sin is burried upon salvation through belief in Christ Jesus, but our action are not always of God and those action make our testimony corrupted by fleshly actions of our mouth, and our desires. People mock and say your are a Christian don't you know better, because it not something they themselves do or they believe it is sin based on observation of another believer lifestyle. People will say your a Christian and I live less corrupt then you do. Not understand to be a Christian first is not based on our works, but our works should speak whose child we are. If you feel you failed as a believer don't worry about it, just keep the faith, your actions one day will line up with the lifestyle God has called you to and that is to be holy. Strive to be holy, to live according to the will of God in your life.
Lay aside sin and corruption the things that will pass away. As a crafter I know full well anything I make will not last, but the love of gift often last a life time. People remember compassion and love, because Christ love is still remember today as he said Father forgive them on the cross. Let us strive for our testimony of life to shine for Jesus, To put on our faith, to turn from sin, to live for Jesus, because he died for us and arose to victory of freedom from the flesh of this world but to live in incorruptible flesh, and putting on the body of the heavenlies as we will one day, but we are never God. It is a transformation God gives us to live and abide with him through eternity.
Dear Heavenly Father, give us hope and faith to fight against the desires of the flesh, and the desires of humanity that separates us from the will of Christ in regards of how we demonstrate our faith as believers so the light of faith shines for others. Help us to lay aside the sin nature to serve you, knowing our corruption will not be eternal, In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study:1 Corinthians 15:48-58 KJV
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
