What was Job doing wrong. He is the man in this story of humility toward God and yet his friends that surrounded him through out the book of Job was very little help to poor Job. Job was being tested by the devil himself. He did not believe a man like Job would remain faithful to God. By all means I have to agree with the devil when all the things Job lost including his family what kept him hanging on. I know what kept Job hanging on was faith in God would not only deliver but set that devil straight who Job was to Him. Israel need for Intercessor was different the Job’s need for intercessor. In fact Job’s need was to lighten the load of what he was dealing with in his personal life. He lost his family, his wealth but not his nagging wife. He lost his friends, but not three of them who were skeptics of holiness of Job. In fact they were convinced Job had sin in some way to make all this destruction around him come to pass. After all Job even lost his livestock. Job needed someone good to come around and declare his righteous in his opinion to God.

Job’s righteousness was only by faith in God, yet the elements of this world and events had put him in a stat of grief over the family and wealth he had lost. Job no doubt believe God only blessed because of his faithfulness. This is a big error of even our day. Even in the Psalms David spoke how the enemy of God seem to rise up with great wealth, but yet always remember eventually they fall. Job had master faith but not the reason of wealth and happiness from God. He though he had repented long enough before God. He understood not he needed no ashes this time for his ways were pure. He needed someone to stop God’s and devil war game.

Who was Job to think he could correct God. He was only a man. Who was Job that he thought he did not deserve travesty. Who was Job that he thought he had right to ask to come before the presence of the Lord. Not only come before but to demand God to listen. As a child of God we have the right to pray and make all request known of God. Imagine today someone demanding to see the supreme court judge to over turn their case without a lawyer knowing how to appeal the case to the supreme court. If individual can get to the Supreme Court without a lawyer I be very surprised. Not impossible feat, but most would need a lawyer to figure out all the legal jargon. Yet some have taken cases to the Supreme Court only not to be heard, and yet with special cases and random appealing process the Supreme Court decides to listen. God in the Book of Job listens first to all the wailings of Job, only then to speak to Job about his majesty and the things he sees. See Job did something else as He wailed and mourn, he also declared who God was. See his wife wanted him to just curse God. Job knew how great and wonderful His God was, despite his calamity.

Reason Job could approach he thrown of God was because He was a child of God. He was not just righteous by man standards, but God’s standards and even the devil knew Job had faith. Job’s mistake was his thought of his own righteousness he deserve more then what he had because of his righteousness. God’s blessings are not always material. God’s blessings are not because of faith, but because He desires to give good gifts to his children. There are times as children we need to be put in our place by God, and God allows us to be tested by the devil \to see if we be faithful even when life is hard. To know our righteousness is not based on the things around us. Our righteous comes by faith. Faith is gift of God.

Job would be blessed by God in the end, but meantime in this passage Job is grieving, angry, wants to know his friends are mean and won’t intercede for him. Job many believe was a gentile. He too seen a new to have some one praying on his behalf. The need for someone interceding for the believer is not a new concept with the coming of Christ who is our intercessor before the throne of God. For Christ is the Word of God.

The need for the go between when life hard, or before the throne of God when our faults are read out. Jesus will be saying Father she my child. Father she is your child. God in is wisdom declares who child with each declaration claims his child. The grief and mourning of knowing one has sinned. Yet knowing by Christ declaration one is forgiven because one is God’s child.

Only if we receive Christ as our Savior does Jesus call us His child. We all are God’s children. God sent an intercessor to us in the flesh, so we could know his love after the time of exile and declaration to the Gentiles of His reality. Think for a moment as Christ walked the earth, and people were healed the effects it would have and the fact his ministry drew a crowd. No other prophet had ever down so many miracles or calmed the sea. No one had forgiven sin without a sacrifice. Jesus walked the streets forgiving all that came to him and begged not. Jesus still has the ability to intercede through and by the Holy Spirit. Will you receive Christ today? If so repent of your sins, and ask God to forgive you and you will become a child of God and Christ Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the intercession your Son and the Holy Spirit who prays on our behalf as well as declares whose child we are to our hearts and soul even when we are before your throne. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
