The Revolutionary Spirit Continues

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Luke 12:34-50 KJV
(34) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
(35) Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
(36) And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
(37) Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
(38) And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
(39) And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
(40) Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
(41) Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
(42) And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
(43) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
(44) Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
(45) But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
(46) The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
(47) And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
(48) But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
(49) I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
(50) But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

The hour I hit the jackpot is not the hour I will be prepared. Many people buy lottery tickets and know that if they hit the jackpot their bills will be paid first. Then a few hope and dreams will come and go. Yet in truth that jackpot comes with no preparation beyond the purchase of a ticket and the dreams made. However if one earns his jackpot of gold, preparation on how it will be spent and used comes into play. One has to learned the importance of paying bills, buying transportation, and storing up for winter in hopes spring arrives quickly. That hope that what is prepared is enough to make it to the time of replenishment. In life there is only one winter in which to lay our heads. There is no second spring for the elderly even if they hit the jackpot. They get saved their works on earth for God is now and not next spring.

Godís work is not in the spring of year but through out oneís life time. There is seasons of learning and growing, sowing and reaping but when the eleventh hour of life comes that midnight hand to meet the Lord draws nigh. Yet we know not when God will call us home, only that our need to be prepared is now only a ticking of time. If a person knew the hour in which cancer would strike would they go to the beach and the Grand Canyon long before they got sick. If you knew the hour that radiation or chemo would began would you have made sure the videos and last words to family and friends were prepared, so you would look your best, if your hour came.

Then how come we know not the day one will die, yet very little thought about preparation for paradise. A Christian home without preparing your love one to first receive Christ when He knocks and then to pass the Gospel on is like a house without a security alarm. It only giving a thief opportunity to enter knowing he might stand a chance to get in a place of unprepared to sound his coming. No one tells a potential jackpot winner of the dangers of those who will try and rob them of their millions, neither do people warn of the devil that will try and steal their faith. Or tell them how to be prepared for a fire, by placing fire extinguishers in certain places, along with smoke detector and sprinkler system. Can one win against the devil if the preparations have not been made. Even a fire extinguisher that is old still might put out a little fire, even if it is not as effective, yet one that is freshly filled is ready for that day.

Jesus used the example of bridegroom coming home to find his house unprepared. Symbolizing Godís people were unprepared for Christ coming. Yet Christ could not set a fire on the earth without his people being prepare for his message. His message was for those unprepared for his fire to consume them so they to would burn for His Father. Jesus defeat the devil with the word of God in the wilderness, but still had to defeat the devilís children (demons that infect people unprepared) One can not prepare for a revolution of faith or revival without the knowledge of Godís word and without the armor of God on. Without preparation of the Holy Spirit to receive and believe in Christ.

There things that can be taught by man to prepare a new believer but in truth the Holy Spirit has to do the work of conviction for salvation and the work done only by him to reach the lost. A new believer knows not about God Spirit but has experienced the Spirit of Godís convicting power. The new believer knows only how to testify by the Spirit, A new believer already has the tools to defeat the devil, but he is untrained and unskilled for certain situations. The new believer must take hold of his learning process on how to defeat the enemy. How to win every time. How to turn the security system on and have backup batteries for the fire alarm.

The type of fire Christ was sending would smother all other flames. The torch that He was kindling would have the oil to carry it, because the Holy Spirit himself had prepared it. God wants to prepare the bride for the wedding, and the new home where His Spirit will rule in the hearts of everyone of his servants with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, gentleness and hope. God chose his servant for the task. He left his servants in charge of his household for a purpose. Yet it still is a free choice if one is prepared to receive his coming.

It is the preparing for a trip only to find the house is empty and unprepared for arrival. God prepares the heart to receive Him. And His Word. Our job is only to be part of the team walking with Christ to do His will and bidding for the preparation. The blessing do pour despite the lack of preparedness of Godís people to receive her Kingís coming. Are you prepared and are you on a road and not inside a house. Waiting for the return of Christ, doing the will of God by just aiding the injured man on the side of the road. Keep traveling and doing the Lordís business, returning to those destinations God has given you to rest.

Dear Heavenly Father set the world on fire for you through your word. Preparing the people of all nationís to receive your Sonís return, whether they be in a house, or on a raod traveling on the highways and in the byways of life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
