Be Part Of the Revolution
01/25/2016

Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

John 21:17-19 KJV
(17) He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
(18) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
(19) This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

A revolution can take place in the heart of many people but unless the ideas of the revolution is shared with others it can not ever become a bonfire burning bright to light a state, a nation or the world. The message of Christ would need to be taught to spread like a wildfire. It was with His disciples He taught them the innocent lambs and sheep about everything the disciples had observed. After all the great commission is given at the end of Matthew and Mark, plus given in Acts 1. John only says feed my sheep not to teach the observance or what was to be taught. Yet the other Gospels make it clear. Yet Peter was not only to feed the sheep but he was told how he would die. Why did Peter have to die for those watching his ministry. It simple really He had to be like Jesus to teach how to die to the children of God that were not present in Israel at the time of Christ death and resurrection. Yet when Peter died He rose not. His resurrection was not visible to those around him. Christ resurrection was real. Yet miracle wrought at the hand of Peter as well as other signs and wonders would of testified of who child Peter was. That He spoke the truth about the resurrection.

Many of Godís people have died and yet not been risen from the dead, but some people have died on the operating table or in an emergency room only to be brought back by medical equipment. Yet these brought back would eventually die a natural death. The only overcomer to be seen taken up to heaven was Jesus. And Elijah. They did not deal with torturer or death before being taken to heaven. Enoch was translated to heaven. The miracle of eternal life seen in Old Testament through two prophets of different time periods. Was Jesus more then a prophet? He claimed equality with the Father (God). Something if we did would make us a devil. If we claim to be the same as Jesus it would make us more then joint heir with Jesus. Joint heir means there is another besides Christ to inherit the throne of God but is not Jesus. Some groups claim the equality of a twin brother of Jesus, being the devil, but the definition is wrong because we are never are equal to Christ or can claim to be equal to Christ, but this is wrong because that would make one equal to God. Peter non resurrection only proved his humanity, Yet Elijah only proven the hope of eternal life as did Enoch. Why only two humans were allow to face eternity without death perhaps to explain we that wait for the return of Christ before our death need not to be afraid of His coming or the rapture of the church going up to meet our Lord in the clouds. And if we die onee soul is immediately with God if we are saved through belief in Jesus and God. Godís people going up toward heaven at the time of Christ return being possible for cleanness of sin is through belief In Christ and his work on the cross to take away sin of the world. Our need to know that because we are not God or Christ that we still be in heaven with our death unless Christ return happens before our death.

Our responsibility as believers is to teach about what we know about Jesus and the cross. To teach and pray. It not just the preacher and Sunday school teachers responsibility. It is all of Godís children responsibility to teach about Jesus and the things He taught. To teach us how to follow In Christ footsteps. Going in the highways and by ways of life sharing the gospel. We might not see a sawed off leg or arm made whole, but we have the ability to see the effects Jesus has on the crippled, and the ones that are whole. We have responsibility to pray for the healing of the sick and the lame with faith that those were pray for will receive what ever God will give, knowing it must be in accordance to His will asked for in His Sonís name. Remembering that Peter too did not raise up after his death but he taught the hope of the resurrection and Paul carried the hope of Christ without being able to heal himself of a devil that tormented him. Our humanity shows we are not God. Christ humanity only demonstrated human weakness and fleshly struggles, but the ability through the Spirit to be overcomers by the will and power of God. To have the Spirit of truth within our heart and allowing his will to reign is to be overcomer. The revolution began with the cross to continue the story of hope of eternity through faith in Christ Jesus and God. Our healing complete with seeing Jesus. Be part of the revolution today by haring all that Jesus taught and even his death and resurrecion.

Dear Heavenly Father fan your flames in my life so I burn bright for you and not myself. May my torch be seen among other torches to causes a bonfire to burn bright. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
