Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris

Hebrews 7:11-22
(11) If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
(12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
(13) For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
(14) For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
(15) And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
(16) Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
(17) For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
(18) For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
(19) For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
(20) And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: (21) (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
(22) By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

Happy New Year 2016. Through out this month we will be talking about revolutionary change. No one wants to think of Jesus causing a revolution or a change in regards to faith, but He did by just verifying the truth of the Word of God verses the law of man. Something no earthly king had ever done. Jesus had to come from the tribe of Judah to change any man made law, but Jesus would not change the spiritual law of faith from old. Jesus changed the law of sacrifice by being the only sacrifice for sin provided by God for man. Jesus being the word of law of God established Godís truth by being who He claimed as the Son of God/word of God. He was before Abraham and yet after Abraham in the physical since.

Godís law of faith never changed. Yet Godís law of sacrifice changed not. His word of still sacrificed to give man eternal life. Enoch walked with God and was translated. The law of faith still applying from old. Man was the one needing intercessor. And so Moses became intercessor for the people. Yet God was going to provide not a man chosen intercessor to Him, but one He designed coming in the flesh being His Son/The Word of God. One that interceded from old to even now. Yet the establishment of the priesthood of Aaron and Moses was one designed by human flesh, called by man to be intercessor and not God.

Godís revolution sent through the kingly line of Israel to the people to make a point, His rules will rule, His law of spirituality would reign. Right now in the world the law of man might appear to be winning, yet the law of faith will win. Man is given a choice to trust. Trust in the law of man or the law of faith. The law with flaws but oneís man can abide by or laws of Christ which is by the law of God fo faith through belief in his word/Jesus.

God establish the law of faith by the delivery of the promise Messiah. Have faith and the Messiah will come. Believe and the Messiah will come. Once here he taught the law of faith using the law of man as example spiritual law. Doing good could never save a person but it can bring you to the spiritual law of faith. Abraham obeyed God and it brought him to faith in God. Through faith Abraham wife Sarah conceived a son after she was to old. Yet Abraham had learned faith by finding the promise land through the first act of obedience to go to the promise land.

What revolution did Jesus cause by taking away the sacrificial law used by the priesthood. Taking away the legalism of faith, to establish faith in its purest form before the priesthood that keeps a division between man and God more often then not. The religious law kept the Levi and the priest from ministering to the Samaritan in the parable the good Samaritan. God never designed his laws to be grieves to the point we could not stop and help a person in need, or do good on the Sabbath, by getting ox out of a hole on the Sabbath. Before the religious law of man the time of Melchisedek priesthood was in place. Abraham paid tithe to him.

Noah paid tithes to God through sacrifice on the altar. Abraham made everlasting covenant with God and that the king would come from the tribe of Judah. Jesus began a revolution with no end. Godís word from old coming as promised to mankind. God continually establishing the law of faith through his promises from Abraham to Jesus. From Jesus to the return of Jesus. The law of faith that allows us to obey the law of man. Yet the law of God is more powerful then the law of man any day. Yet God allows us to believe and obey his laws and the law of man.

Dear Heavenly Father create in us a revolutionary change of faith in you word in our daily life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
