Lack Of Belief

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Mark 16:1-20 KJV
1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The factor of unbelief is not unseeable, it the most blinding part of faith. How many of us take God's word at face value and how many explore it til we are satisfied with each statement we read. Two days ago as or maybe it was three and I sat and worked on the reason for Christ having to go to the cross, I had to stop, and wonder why Christ had to die to the law of man. Not only that but God allowed it. I got to Romans 8 and it talked about it in the final part of the chapter, and I was taken back because I had looked at the cross as Christ dying for my sins, I never looked beyond the fact that Barabbas was insurrectionist and murder, and Christ paid for with his life instead of Barabbas. That Christ had been involved with a crime. There no way to contain all scriptures in our heart and mind. Even if we go over the story more then once or all our life. Scripture at times becomes more real or alive. The reality of Christ death for the sin of man, and law man and the will of man. God allowed man to crucify his Son, though he be under his law. In the days of Moses' God killed for those who descrated the tabernacle, or his holiness. Yet here Christ defends the Father, and God does nothing to revenge those that descrated his temple. Rome was in charge not Religious leaders of God. Yet as Christ walked the earth he did many miracles by his power and God authority in his life to do these things as prophesied. Yet he would go to the cross dying to the world's law, by God's power. Prophetic word coming to life, for what the hope of God's power returning and being established on earth as it was in heaven. Several things has to happen for God's power to reign in our world and not the law of man. No not at all, because God shows man the cost of his authority not ruling. It began with King Saul anointed to rule because Israel wanted a king to rule their land. With Christ crucifixion it was saying man still desire a king that was not God or God's only Son. Rejection of the Son, and unbelief of who he was. Do you really think if the Pharisees understood who Jesus was they would of allowed his crucifixion, or would they desired his authority to rule? Their blindness prophesied about, because they looked for Roman deliverance and not the deliverance from God. They prefer to worship without persecution then with persecution. Not realizing to destroy the one that would bring the reason for the persecution that would lead Israel right out of Roman rule to the knowledge of God's rule, they desired Roman's rule, who would destroy them. (John 11:47-53 and verse in chapter 18) The miracles not enough to desire Jesus to live, nor his power flowing to prove who he was.

What does this have to do with Christ resurrection. Women get to the tomb where he suppose to be laid and the huge rock was moved and a man was sitting in the tomb. The man spoke and said he was not here but had gone on to Galilee before you and they were to go back and tell the disciples and Peter this. Now I am not so sure anyone gets this but the woman needed first faith to believe Jesus was raised, next they had to believe he gone on ahead of disciples and was going ahead into Galilee by faith. Young man was specific who to tell, to tell Peter and the disciples the news. Though this message would travel to the disciples no one believed and had to check out the facts themselves. Peter in one Luke 24 would run back kneel down and look into the tomb where Jesus was suppose to lay only to walk away wondering. Then Christ began to appear to them in groups of one or two and yet not in full exposure of who he was. Instead he disguised himself on the road to Emmaus to two disciples(Luke 24:13). Jesus appeared as the gardener to Mary, until she looked up to see who he was at the tomb. (John 20) Yet with all the knowledge of Jesus' power there was doubt of if he really was alive. They seen Lazarus rise up, they had seen miracles, and other death people rise back to life, yet there was still doubt among the disciples.

When does faith begin? My first statement today was The factor of unbelief is not unseeable, it the most blinding part of faith. How many of us take God's word at face value and how many explore it til we are satisfied with each statement we read. The Disciples with all they observed with being with Jesus still lacked faith. Still experienced unbelief. If a Christian fails to admit their unbelief they are truly deceived. We are like Adam and Eve when it come to God's Holy Word. He said don't eat the fruit off that tree and yet we eat of the tree of unbelief and denial of God's word because of our unbelief.

Fortunately for us God does not want us to rest in unbelief, he desire us to know him and to know his word is true. That is why he draws us to faith in his Son Jesus. Faith even in ministers of faith and even the church. There people with faith to know miracles happen through prayer of the church but lack the faith to pray for the person and to just trust Jesus to do the work through their own prayer of faith. People taking people to the church, and let the failure of what we think might or could happen failure be on the church or minister of faith. The crowd in other words needing the proof of God in the church world, but the church already knows the power of God and the church people that pray without the church in faith also know the power of the HOly Spirit is within them to pray for someone without a church. The pastor and the church are not to be worshipped as a God, but are to be loved with understanding that they to are Adam and Eve that search, seek to know God's truth, even to the point of failing to follow God's word at times. All humanity in all of God's disciples that for sure, and some fail to see the humanity of believers, because of the miracles.

Jesus had told the disciples he would rise again that his body was the temple of God. Yet where was their faith. As Jesus appears to eleven of them he chastises/scolds them for unbelief. Yet he knows that to believe is the falacy of man. Know matter how long we read God's word we need to recognize our own unbelief, to believe, to omit their are times we do not receive God's word with faith, joy, hope and thanksgiving. That desires of this world deceives us into not believing the word of God or his hope through Christ Jesus at times. Yet if we call upon his name we will be saved, if we will believe in our heart that Jesus died for our sin and rose again, then his death is not in vain, nor our faith is no longer without hope. Because our hope with the promise of eternal life. That the power of this world no longer hold the key to death, but only life to the believer. The world demonstration what happens to those that believe not and the church world shows us what happens to those of us of faith, the hope God brings through fellowship he offeres through his Son, Spirit and his children.

The hope comes with knowing that whosoever belief in him shalt be saved, and signs will follow and some will speak in new tongues(languages for the spreading of the Gospel. They will cast out devils, signs and wonders would follow the believers, just in the day of Christ, when seventy went forth preaching and teaching. Nothing changed from our duties as disciples from the day of Christ early instructions til even now. We are to spread the good news, and God will do the rest through us, for us, as we ask in Christ name, all according to his will and grace for us. We need to pray to be in his will by his Spirit.

Blessings come with life and death and not always with the miracle, but faith comes with the miracle of hope of life eternal. Can we walk as disciples of Christ in faith, teaching, preaching and praying? Or do we walk in silence of the day afraid to demonstrate the love of God or to tell another of his grace, because of our unbelief of impossibility becoming possible because of God's power not ours? Why are we afraid to ask? It is simple our unbelief as believers holds us back from doing the will of God in our life and the life of others by sharing his grace. Will you step out in faith and find the avenue God wants you to share his word by mouth, by computer, by phone, by simple witness of faith to strangers that you meet, and to your friends?

Dear Heavenly Father it is by your grace we share your word knowing that even in the hours of our own unbelief, you still working in our life and others, to help our unbelief, begining with the death and resurrection of your Son, who dies for our sins. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Luke 10:1-11 KJV
1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

Luke 10:17-24 KJV
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
