Joy of child birth for many families is seen from the hospital room, to the back seats of cabs, to the back of a squad, to locations of unusual locations for giving birth. Yet when it is time for a child to be born nothing will stop the child from coming. Not matter how ackward, uncomfortable, and painful child birth can be the pain is only remembered as being history with the birth of a child. The mother no longer concerned about her own pain but the child she holds in her arms or see going down the hall of hospital for medical attention. How fast and quick when the hour is at hand for a child to come. Mary having her first child was about to find how hard it was to give birth. Despite the baby was the only begotten Son of God, Mary would feel pain at the birth of her son and as throughout his life even to the cross. No doubt this child was unique and experience unique that first Christmas morn. The world rejoiced with Christ death and Mary rejoiced with his life. The believers rejoice with birth of Christ and mourn at the cross, not knowing the joy of the resurrection or the value of his death until his resurrection.
The Messiah was requested as early as Job time period, with the need for intercessor to plead his case before God. Job thought he was being treated unjustly. His righteousness gone to his head. Yet the king of Isaiah day had no desire for a sign or a Messiah. The point is Jesus is speaking if we ask in his name God will do it. Job was a godly man, the king was ungodly. The sinful man often sees no need of a Savior until the Holy Spirit convicts the heart of the unbeliever for salvation. Then sometimes man still rejects God with conviction. God did not give Job intercessor other then His Word, God would give the incessor to the heathens, only for them to crucify him.
God in his mercy and grace does not always give us what we want because we already got it. Job was righteous before God. HIs salvation secure, becasue he believed God. He even did the sacrifices and offerings required by the law for his family and himself for that day and time. He followed God's requirement for salvation, and yet he still felt he needed a Savior. If we are saved by believing and Jesus and repenting of our sins, then we are righteous before God. God has made a way through His Son. A gift given to all man kind. No other sacrifice is needed for sin or eternal security. Yet it takes faith to receive salvation and hope for eternity. Yet we must ask to receive salvation, we must ask God to forgive us our sins. How else will our sins be covered if we never ask or receive with faith.
Like a new born baby when we are born again by faith in spiritual rebirth by receiving Christ atonement/sacrifice/forgiveness for sin we are then full of joy and our joy is complete. Then enemy only found victory in Christ death, but could not receive the joy of his resurrection, because they understood not their sins can be forgiven. Job request was granted not in his life time as seeing the Messiah in the flesh, but receiving of the word/Messiah in his life. He believed God has Abraham did.
If Jesus said if you ask anything in my name, God will do it, beware it might not be in your life, but it will done. Salvation came to the world through prophesy, through revelation and in the flesh. Where are you this Christmas resting in the word and in Christ who came in the flesh, or only in your own ability. His your hope complete this Christmas are you looking for reedemption of the return of Christ to make your hope complete. Every eye with see Christ and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord. Faith with seeing will it be to late, only God knows.
Today we celebrate the birth of our Lord because he is the promise hope for all humanity. I seem to like the word humanity this month, and perhaps because it says several things, we are all part of the human race. We might not all be part of the spiritual church, but we all fit in to the category of humanity. We are people in need of Jesus. We are people in need of understanding from God and others. We all are in need of a Savior for our sins alone causes our separation from God. The cleansing of the world that is coming is more then spiritual, but it begins with the heart of man as we bow and confess Jesus Christ is Lord.
Maybe this Christmas be filled with the hope of faith in Christ, knowing he was promised to come in the flesh as a baby. Let us rejoice because the pain of spiritual birth is also much like child birth, it is only for a moment, then the joy comes as God's Spirit embraces us in his love just like a mother embrace her new child. God loves us and we will know his embrace.
Dear Heavenly Father thank you for birth of your dear Son the savior of the world whose name is Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
