Healing In Christ Wings
8/21/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Malachi 4:1-6 KJV
1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Going forth and grow up as young calves in a stall, because of the healing in my wings says the Lord. Think for a moment what verse w is saying in Malachi chapter four. We often see the hardship, we see the struggle but we see the wicked destroyed. With seeing evil destroyed we see a struggle in ourselves of not only fear of God comes with destruction but the righteous will go forth and grow up as the calves of the stall. A calf in a stall is example of growing up with food and water, being taken care of, not roaming the fields but in captivity, of the barn within its own room. In other words they still confined to barn, but when the doors of the barn are open they trample the wicked under their feet. What occurs is the spread of the Gospel goes forth across the land, the righteous going forth and the wick not prevailing any more. In other words when Israel is release from captiviity, they may not fat from the fields, but are feed plenty in captivity, with knowledge of God and the watering of their word in their life, that when they go forth it like to victory. They go to their homeland to rebuild the wall and the temple. If you reflect back to the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, people at the time of Malachi were waiting on the time of Ezra and Nehemiah when the temple was rebuilt and the law of Mose was read and people repented of their sins. Yet God doing something greater here, he is sending his Son the Sun of righteous, and their healing in his wings, protection, safety, and a time of understanding of the word of God. Jesus spoke of parables and spoke the word of God, but spoke in a way the nation of Israel could understnad as well as the gentiles.

The revival spirit the time of repentance the time of healing Jesus would be our healer of our sins, with his death and resurrection. Elijah would come forth, meaing John the Baptist, and then the Messiah would come, other wise he would come with curse, because of the hearts of his children were not turned toward him. In other words God was protecting his people, but also coming to teach and shelter them because they understood not the law of repentance, the laws of Moses, or the laws of God anymore. The time of Elijah and Christ was like a wooing of the Spirit of God on the people hearing the law of God and the laws of man of Rome, but not understanding but longing for they understood not.

There was still great understanding at the time of Ezra and Nehemiah and so when the law was read the law repentance came. When Christ came he came to teach both the Jews and the Gentiles to show them the reality of God, not only the fear of God but the friendship God desired to have with man. To turn the people heart to repentance with the reality of the promise Messiah. A time of healing for those that choose God and his ways. That what it is all about.

Wicked being destroyed not for a lack of knowledge, but because they reject God and his ways. They reject the truth of God's word and God's Spirit. Next time you see a holocaust by act of God or man ask yourself what was destroyed, what remained. Even believers die in times of destruction of the earth, but what I want to ask, what remains are people looking for hope. Hoping that their bank and insurance is intact enough to survive on until things can get better. Poor struggling looking for shelter in the storm. If nothing else but what as Cov19 taught the people of our land, that no one is exempt from hardship, either by act of God or even act of evil people. God has not left his people, people still fear gatherings, but they do not fear finding means of survival in the storm. We all are struggling to a degree, even those who finances are secure. It effecting social gatherings, social events and even how we do things on a daily bases for many. Yet others are saying we will take the risk and keep things going as best we can. Yet one thing our world needs is Jesus and his shelter of his wings. A day will come when Christ returns and the world will look and know the reality of Christ to bring all to their knees.

Dear Lord let us see evil flee our land and the need for God to arise in the heart once more of man. That God's people are still standing and with hope. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Philippians 2:9-11 KJV
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
