Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 10:2-21 KJV
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Where are you welcome? Most friends welcome you in the door. There people that even welcome a stranger in their home. Yet in this day and time is further and farther between. If you like to party i guarantee you find a friend for one night at the least, and if you are a believer in a strange place I guarantee you might find yourself alone. Yet God's provision is greater then our understanding.

When Christ tells his disciples to go forth and to go into any house and say peace to this house and if they receive you stay. It does not mean take advantage of new friendship, but to stay where doors are open to you, with knowledge God is with you in this situation. Be careful to listen to God and His Spirit. Be careful to listen so you not in a place that will not receive the Gospel. Be mindful to listen because there are place that do not want to hear the gospel of Christ even when they have had a chance to get to know you. Do not be afraid of entering the wrong place, or upset by discouragement of not being allowed to stay. The judgment of God is on those places that do not allow his people to come in.

Peter had a open door at Cornelius house by vision and visitation. Paul had a door in Damacus when he was blind. Philip found chariot, Elijah found a widow woman and a son to stay with. Doors for God's people are there. Yet those doors must allow peace into them. What is peace, but a sign of not waging war or fighting once one enters in the door of a house. What is peace but a white flag of truce. What is peace but agreement to agree to disagree. What is peace? It the time all things that were undone are accomplished concerning someone that is dying. What then is peace? Not going somewhere to make war.

As a Christian is are goaled to be a peacemaker or to cause war. Do we enter into a place to be at war or to be at peace. As peace negotiations continue with many countries around the world, one can not ask are we truly talking peace or waging war with our mouth. To talk peace one has to be willing to listen and to disagree peacefully. To not allow anger or irritation to rise. I doubt the political leaders do this with no issues, in fact we know they do not. However at the same time they do quite well with each other if they listen to each other and get to know each other has person and not just another leader. Christians are we entering God's house in peace, are we entering our neighbors house in peace. Does peace abide with you or not. Jesus is the peacemaker between believers, but is also the peacemaker of the heart. Jesus is giving a warning to his disciples of where not to stay and not to be involved in because destruction is coming to that place already. Jesus knows he sending his disciple/sheep among the wolves of the world. He knows what going to happen to himself among the wolves and what happens to us among the wolves. The suffering of the saints is not unusual nor is the crime against humanity ceased.

Immigration do people come into our land or do we go to another person land and mean peace or do we mean war? 911 showed the intent of extremist of hate. Most religions would agree we are actually in disagreement and at spiritual war. Yet one has to ask is the war peaceful demonstrated or is it violent in nature. Is it only spiritual warfar, or is physical too. America right to freedom means it suppose to be only spiritual war not physical war, meaning God deals with the issue of the heart and not man taking the war into physical action. Point is this, if our nation proclaims freedom of religion do we wage war on others different then ourselves. Do we do so not meaning too. Is it Christ way not to wage war, I don't know when it comes to demons he did cast them out. Are we bold enough to allow God's authority to be demonstrated in the lives of the non believers of our faith, without war beyond spiritual realm. Don't think the sorcers of our day won't be mad, but at the same time, are they gaining peace, only if they allow Christ in. Maybe it is time Christians to be bolder for God as God directs us to be in a peacful manner only casting the devil out and not in the physical realm of battle. Christ did not hold a soul down to cast one demon out.

Dear Heavenly Father grant us peace and boldness in places we go, so that the spiritual demons of our world must flee for the Gospel. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion: Acts 18:25-26 KJV
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
