He Is Worthy To Open The Book
8/19/2019

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Revelation 5:1-14 KJV
1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Who is worthy to open the seven seals? You is without spots, without blame. I do not know a person on earth that is alive that is worthy to open the seven seals, which represent the seven woes, or judgments. Jesus is the only one that is worthy to open the seals and read the judgments and see the judgments come down on man. He lived in pure holiness while he walked the earth. Yet without sin the world crucified him. The seven eyes represent one stone in Zechariah 3:9-10 and the seven Spirits of God represent the truth of who God is going forth throughout the nations. Lord is knowledge, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:1-4. This seen in Revelations is easy to see, To see Christ coming and taking the book from his Father, so that his word can be open and go forth upon the nations.

Not one person is worthy to judge another is the point concerning the seals, only Christ is worthy to judge. The ministers of the seven churches in Revelation goes forth declaring who Christ is and who God is. They go forth into the world preaching and teaching the gospel. Yet we need to dig a little deeper. I talked about the unity of God the Father, and Son by the Spirit, but the church is also unified by the Holy Spirit. See each believer filled with Spirit of God is able to work in the unity of the church by direction of the Holy Spirit and the pastor. Pastor is a man, but also called angel in scripture, he goes forth in ministry to spread the truth of the Gospel and the word of God of who God and Christ is.

Christ is worthy to redeem us and make us unworthy of the judgments of God. Christ power to redeem is because of his power to judge us. World view of someone worthy to judge would be based on the laws of the land and whether they could not adhere to them or not. Most people want a judge that they know has fallen into sin. The movie industry would love to show you the corruption of the political and judgmental world. Showing that judges do fall to their corruption, and good judges seldom exist. Yet those judges that are fair across the board despite the crime are noted by criminals and those without a record. If Christ came to take away the sins of the world and judgment on the world, then the issue is when Christ comes with judgment the only ones he judging is those that feel they are without sin. If a child is caught in disobedience to a parent and tells the truth often time the punishment is less severe then if they told the truth. Christ condemns his people not, instead giving them the hope of salvation. Every knee will bow and all will confess Jesus is Lord to glory to God the Father, found also in Revelations 20 and Phillipians 2. Christ shows the love to the world despite their disobedience, Christ love complete by not condemnation to the forgiven. Truth has value to God. Adam and Eve hide from God instead of saying yeah I did it, they passed the crime to the serpent.

Why at the end of Revelations you see the people still being taught the word of God though they in a new heaven and a new earth because of who we are despite our perfection through Christ covering of our sin, we are still in need of the word to teach and guide us in how to live. God's ministers will continue to go forth and the nations will come to the new Jerusalem and worship God.

Christ is worthy to sit on the throne only because He is part and fully God the Father in Word and Spirit. We can not draw away from the humanity and perfection of Christ for his ability to forgive is even perfected. Judgment is for the lost that are unsaved, yet at times the believer seems to walk as if the judgment of humanity is upon their shoulders because of trials and tribulation. What then is the trials and tribulation of faith because of our disobedience or someone elses. Only God knows fully that answer and yet He see our sin not, but allows corrects us when we fail. He corrects us with love and truth. Our honest about ourselves enables us to work on those mistakes in life. We can not fix all our mistakes, but Christ between the saints enable forgiveness among the saints, and love to be demonstrated through faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for allowing a Savior to come and redeem those that would hear, believe, admit fault, and choose to obey you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study for Devotion:
Zechariah 3:9-10 KJV
9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
10 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

Isaiah 11:1-4 KJV 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
